Is Saga Done?

first of all cool guy, you very specifically said "were going to be focused on reworking with the materials we have, like better cuts, blah blah" which is VERY MUCH NOT "were gonna release the same bullshit" and how do you have black friday numbers already you dont have a brick and mortar store. meaning your accountants would wait until the end of cyber monday... today, before processing your total sales. which would still be rough SKU numbers, not gross or net sale figures. youre dumb 1.

you keep spinning that PR bot as your reputation gets DVDA'd by Mandingo & Co.

I don't want to sound rude but this comment shows how little you know about ecommerce and that you have obviously never logged into a Shopify account. How do you think ecommerce businesses are able to be successful if they have to wait multiple days for information on sales and traffic? Online sales platforms process this data in realtime so businesses can make changes instantly.

In regards to your other comments about being dumb or being a bot. The first is an opinion and I don't think I'll get anywhere with you trying to argue that. The second is just a poor assessment of my interactions on this website. Sure if you cherry pick some of my responses they will sound overly mature and bot-like. That is only because the tone is altered to best convey the message to whom I am conversing with. I can very easily come back with a more aggressive and common response. But I choose to believe the people asking questions and posting comments on this site are worth more.

Super based bag’o’tricks post tbh.

Thread is old af but I hope y’all are finally at the “acceptance” state of grief by now, saga is on its decline and may become a white bread outerwear company like dakine but that’s just life.

Only time will tell. Personally I think this pandemic period is going to be beneficial to Saga. It's allowed us to slow things down and work on the infrastructure issues that plagued us in the past.

What brand(s) do you consider to not be "white bread"? Or what are they doing that makes them better? I don't mind that you're throwing shade our way, to each their own. But I think it will benefit this website and skiing in general more if you use your opinions to try and bring up ski brands instead of shoot them down and offer no advice.

Thoughts, feelings and input from this community are always valued.

Just know we had an extremely rough go of it last year. We tried and, are still trying, to resolve customer issues. We have been in contact with people as often as possible.

We hope this whole mess will soon be a bad memory.

Urban dictionary definition:

whitebread

Belonging to the class of bland, clean-cut, middle-of-the-road suburbanite breeders. The Cleavers from the old TV show "Leave It To Beaver" are a familiar archetype of whitebread culture. Compare to yuppie.

The term implies profound cultural naïvete, blind consumerism, and an unquestioning "follower" mindset. Common trappings of the whitebread lifestyle include golf, Kenny G and Enya CDs, SUVs, an irrational fixation on lawn care, Golden Retrievers, nominally Christian religious beliefs, Old Navy clothing, moderate to conservative political views, bad Chardonnay, equally bad espresso, cookie-cutter houses, Bath & Body Works hygiene products, and very white-collar employment.

Though whitebread individuals are usually white, the term is not necessarily racial in meaning - the implication lies more with the blandness, predictability, and banality of plain white bread. Accordingly, "wonderbread" is often used as a synonym.

I'll bet the amount of money that whitebread neighborhood spends on lawn fertilizer could feed a small African nation.

Thank you for linking this definition. However I asked what brands do you consider to not be "white bread". I am well aware of the leave it to Beaver, Dennis the menace, white picket fence consumerist definition. I was hoping you could provide us all with a little more depth than simply copy and pasting something from someone else on the internet.

Put some time and thought into it. What brands have not, or currently don't, fall under your definition of "white bread".

Off the top of my head I’d say burton, quicksilver, Dakine, black diamond, under armor, O’Neill, air blaster, planks etc.

Brands you find in most big box stores, brands that fade into the background, brands that don’t do much to stand out, brands that all market to jerries/ the wealthy

brands that make the same shit every year

brands that don’t grow or change over time

I can get you a better response at a later time but it’s me friends b-day so I don’t have a ton of time tonight.

Are the brands you listed "whitebread" or not? Cause some of those I would say and others, mostly planks and bd, I would not.

Saga answered every question I had and that's all that matters to me. I couldn't name you a "white bread" outerwear company that would be willing to reply to NS and deal with the bullshit in this thread so I think that ruins your argument.

I get Saga isn't making t-shirts with titties on 'em or mushrooms or whatever else those "core" people seem to love, but imo they're still top dog when it comes to freestyle outerwear and unlike other companies (Jiberish comes to mind) they haven't seemed to waver from that. Loved Saga gear in 2010 and still love it now.

I look forward to your next response. Especially because I asked what brands you consider to NOT be white bread.

As it seems you listed brands you consider to be white bread I'd like to address the comment nonetheless.

How are you going to say Burton is white bread. Let's just start there. That brand has done more for the growth of snowsports both in participation and technology than any other brand on snow. No question. Every several years they invest more money into a youth/am program than anyone else (un inc, nobody, etc).

O'Neill seems to have completely reinvented themselves in the last few years. A completely revamped team and quite a few jacket and pant styles that are quite sick.

Airblaster, really? This company started out making leg bags and is now one of the more prominent and progressive outerwear brands in snowboarding.

As for the others, I don't often interact with their brands or products. Therefore I can't speak to them.

In general it feels like you're putting brands into categories based off their most popular or prominent products. This is easy to do. These products and the marketing associated with them are designed to appeal to the mass market. Aka white bread. That by no means should lead you to believe that is how the brand is across the board. All that should really tell you is that that brand is strategic with how they market their products and that you have been slotted into the ad delivery category that will be shown the more generic products and ads.

Bro you are based af

[tag=72274]@Saga.[/tag] white bread brands are the ones my parents buy at TJ Maxx and Costco. My Spyder sweater was a gift and came from Costco. SAGA from TJ Maxx or Marshals for sure. These are the brands boomers are buying as gifts. Nothing wrong with it and that is why you sold to China so you can actually market to mass appeal like white bread and make money.

Since you requested some non white bread examples https://lizardstuff.bigcartel.com/

and even https://mutedltd.com/

but those guys probably don’t make money and probably won’t be able to sell their brand to China.

It’s all good. I like a little white bread sometimes

Thank you for the reply.

I don't believe we've ever sold product to TJ Maxx or Marshalls. Sierra Trading post, yes. Doesn't matter either way. All are essentially the same thing. Discount stores to sell excess inventory.

So I was on Evo and found Saga gear for the low, and remembered that Saga went through that whole robbery ordeal and then stopped sending people their orders. Curious to see if there had been any updates, I went to their website to find it as a static page saying this years line is coming soon. Their Insta looks like they are dropping the new line this month, but I find it strange you can't get to their webstore at all.

Is Saga done? Has there been any announcements or anything that I missed? Did the people who ordered shit ever get it? If not, were they refunded?

Any and all info on Saga is appreciated. For a brand I love to wear, I want to try to understand exactly what's going on behind the scenes.

i think they've healed fully, i got a saga jacket off their site at around the robbery time and there were no problems. my bud also got a matching jacket a few days ago and there werent any problems :)

1. Saga and I have never been partnered. You'd think if that were the case this thread wouldn't be necessary, but what's the point of thinking logically when you can just think emotionally? I got the answer to my question years ago and honestly don't care about whitebread vs core or whatever... I just wanted to know if they were still in business after getting robbed.

2. Making videos and skiing are my two passions in life, so being able to do both at the same time is a blessing and I enjoy it more than anything. I'll keep being a "YouTube yahoo" as long as it's fun for me and makes me happy. I apologize that it pisses you off so much.
