Is Saga Done?

So I was on Evo and found Saga gear for the low, and remembered that Saga went through that whole robbery ordeal and then stopped sending people their orders. Curious to see if there had been any updates, I went to their website to find it as a static page saying this years line is coming soon. Their Insta looks like they are dropping the new line this month, but I find it strange you can't get to their webstore at all.

Is Saga done? Has there been any announcements or anything that I missed? Did the people who ordered shit ever get it? If not, were they refunded?

Any and all info on Saga is appreciated. For a brand I love to wear, I want to try to understand exactly what's going on behind the scenes.

Honestly even if they have made a come back from last season’s disaster, I feel like their hype is 100% gone. Saga used to pump out all kinds of colors, patterns, and designs. You could always find something you wanted, whether your style was 12 year old skittles outfit or murdered out black. Over time, the gear (and website) became more sophisticated as the selection shrunk. A brand who’s primary audience was goofy park kids did a complete 180° and is now attempting to be the opposite. Another thing i take into account is that a lot has changed since the “boom” of saga. The hype is all gone, something which the “They see me trollin’” edits did a pretty great job of getting people stoked about the brand. Their YouTube channel, the whole spirit of the operation, has pretty much come to a halt as well.

I guess my point is, saga doesn’t seem near as active in the community as they have in the past. I’d go as far as to say it seems their goal is to switch their demographic altogether.

New site and Winter line is scheduled to be available and shipping next week. There are more than enough threads and responses, both public and private with customers and fans, you can read about the trouble of the last 16 or so months so I won't go into that again here. Just know we had an extremely rough go of it last year. We tried and, are still trying, to resolve customer issues. We have been in contact with people as often as possible.

We hope this whole mess will soon be a bad memory.

The fact that they reply is a good sign!

Wish I could get a reply from Revision about my preorder placed August 3rd, 2016. I'm sure Revision is just making finishing touches on them before they send them.

Well maybe we could have gotten some closure if a few of the pussies who claimed to have had contact info/knowledge of Bill Wanrooy's whereabout's at that time would have just coughed up the info

But no, instead he got away with robbing all of us.

Damn. That just sucks. Shouldn’t he be in jail or something?

Saga has always came up with excuses and never really shown remorse for terrible business practices. The lack of transparency and the 'oh poor me' attitude while customers have to file claims with their banks/lines of credit because they never delivered will forever be a stain on the company. Of course they hope this will all be a bad memory lmao

You’re right, the victim response doesn’t really help. They didn’t even apologize, just Said how rough it was for them. How about the kids who didn’t get their gear?

This is where you are mistaken. We have on multiple occasions over the last 16 months apologized to customers both publicly and privately. There is another thread about Saga that even has one of the apologies pasted in

it. If you didn't see that or don't care to search for it I will paste it below. This specific message was sent to customers on June 14th of this current year.

The line between excuse and explanation is a subjective one. You say we make excuses where as we believe we are doing

our best to explain why the situation is/was the way it is.

"We are writing this to apologize, thank you and share an announcement regarding our commitment to the future. This message should have come sooner. Due to legal reasons we were not able until now.

As you may know, last year we experienced a massive break-in at the SAGA HQ. Our warehouse was robbed of truck loads of new inventory. Due to the ongoing investigation we have been restricted from sharing certain details. In short, what followed was a 6-month battle with our insurance provider, a year long police investigation, the eventual recovery of a small amount of the inventory, an arrest and a year of to try and put the pieces back together.

The scale of the event and lost revenue had such an impact on our operations that it took a full 18 months to get our heads above water. Without an extreme commitment to the dream that is Saga from our staff over the last year, we would have had to close up shop before any inventory was put into production for Winter 18/19. Outside of our team of athletes, SAGA is a total staff of 7 individuals operating a global brand. All along we have strived to keep pushing and expanding the brand so as to provide our products value and experience to more fans of snow. That time has come.

Since we founded SAGA over a decade ago, our losses have been as public as our wins have been celebrated. A balance of struggle and success that shapes this community. A community that we are grateful to both be apart of, and to serve. Our failures have been something we have always taken in stride, learning from, and building on. This last season we made the decision to implement a new global warehousing and fulfillment program that would pick, pack, and ship all customer orders to the fastest and most efficient standard, across N. America, Europe, S. America and Asia. The vision was clear, the execution was not. We failed in our duty as we lost control of our inventory and service. You deserve better and we should have handled it better. For that, we are truly sorry. We’re working to rebuild our systems, operations and hopefully your trust into the future. For the customers and fans that stood by and supported us, we owe you. Thank you.

As of this week all closeout sales, back orders, returns and exchanges will be current."

Spyder and SAGA are now owned the same giant company. Both were acquired through some sort of corporate brand purchase. In my understanding they just couldn't handle it and ended up selling the brand completely. It is now Global Brands Group

That brand owns Kendall and Kylie so Saga is basically part of The Kardashin family

I've only purchased saga swim trunks and a saga tee, I waited so long for two basic things lol like 7months. Saga was the shit back in 2009-2010

The fact that you just managed to get both 9/11 and Kim Kardashian in the same sentence is truly incredible.

After months of not responding to my emails I got someone's contact info through Instagram. E-mailed some guy named Andy, he said it would be shipping next week, but never responded back after that. Company sold out to a larger corporation so hopefully Saga can actually learn how to ship their products, maybe even send you an email letting you know your stuff is shipping.

You guys have no fucking idea what it takes to run a business. You're waiting for a fucking hoodie and bitching Saga isn't apologizing to you? Shut up. These fools got bills to pay too. They've apologized PROFUSELY for a ridiculous situation in the first place. If your business got that inventory stolen you would've moved your ass back into your moms crib lmao

Sure they apologized but who fucking cares. An apology does nothing if people don't get refunded or their product in hand. Sure they got burglarized, but that's no excuse for continuing to run a business and sell products you didn't have and neglect orders and customer service. Many people waited months, and many were too unaware of the time limitations of PayPal and credit card buyer protections.

This dude above talks about running a company and that they should be cut some slack. Well guess what? What they did is no way to run a company. It's how you ruin a brand and tarnish a company image. It's practically stealing. A real company promptly identifies their deficiencies, realizes mistakes, and takes immediate/timely action to fix those mistakes in some way or another. No one likes excuses.

The whole thing is shady as fuck.

I legit saw a Saga hat for $5 in the clearance section of Sierra Trading Post. That is all.

Lots of Spyder too. Spyder has a freeski team now. Maybe they will make a Saga speedsuit

Yeah exactly. Saga sent a super vague apology in January of 2019, linked to the Newschoolers article about them being robbed, then said look at shipping updates that they never linked. Hack job at apologizing at best.

saga’s lame. Can’t get behind a brand who keeps their customers in the dark and disables commenting on their social media bc of pissed off kids asking where their shit is.

shit is whack.

couldn't have said it any better. obviously saga didn't want this to happen. they didn't plan for this shit. insurance never helps. bunch of simpletons on this website who don't get how business works. from a consumer standpoint it sucks because you didnt get your gear, but imagine owning a reputable well known business and getting your entire inventory stolen.. stress level is a little different there

Saga can say whatever they want, but I am still waiting on my pre-order from last season. For those of you wondering what the status of my order is, I have yet to get ANY updates. If I had to speculate, I do not expect to receive these items and will place bets that they are going under.

I've asked for a refund twice, they have turned me down. Had to call my bank and get them to charge back.

So saga got THEIR warehouse broken into, THEIR inventory stolen, and expect to keep the money from people that preordered and ordered? That’s sketch and makes 0 sense whatsoever

That is what insurance is for. So they don't go under when something like that happens and people get their money back.

The fact that they won’t honor last years purchases for this years is fucked up.

saying sorry doesn’t make up for losing out on hundreds of dollars. That shit is fucking whack.

Will never purchase saga again and will not support them by any means.

No one ever said those purchases aren't being honored. We have been in contact with as many customers as possible letting them know what to expect. I expect 100% of unfulfilled orders from 18/19 to be resolved within the next 2 weeks when we start shipping again.

Contact with as many customers as possible and I've yet to receive a single email from you guys since the June 14th "apology/update".

Great customer service skills. I'd expect better from a company that just got bought out by an even larger one.

I'm sorry you haven't received an update. We're continually working to make sure all of the problems from the past season are resolved now that we're working into a more stable business environment.

To give a little clarification about customer service, your comment and our future.

Just because it has been announced that Saga is being purchased by a larger company doesn't mean that every issue is instantly resolved. It's not like your big brother showing up to a fight where you're getting pounded and taking care of everything. For one, this whole sale process has been going on for well over a year now and still isn't fully complete. This means we've been operating in a weird purgatory for the last 6 months or so. The business is gearing up to begin shipping the new products for the coming season(in stock and ready to ship) and the future but the parent company has still yet to sign off which would allow us to resolve nearly all outstanding customer issues.

You have every right to keep throwing jabs at us for our shortcomings. All we ask is that you don't jump to conclusions and assumptions about what is going on on the business end of Saga. Speculation only fuels unnecessary rumors.

Pretty sure I remember saga accepting orders on items that they admitted they were having problems with and wouldn’t be able to send out even to the orders placed prior. Super lame, especially to not honor refunds

They must be hurting. No gloves, hoods, or masks. No regular pants just bibs and the jackets all look like previous years. I thought maybe they would have a bangin line up to make for everything.
