Is rollerblading gaining popularity?

...ive been rollin for a while but ive never met anyone else in my area. imagine my surprise when upon arriving at the local park there are not one but 3 kids on blades. wtf. what's it like in other areas? gaining popularity?
 
i am one of the only ones of my skier friends who actually likes to blade, but it's hard as hell in terms of tricks for a beginner. But it's a great way to let some of that skiing energy out in the summer.
 
Oh I think it's definitely gaining popularity. I went to the skatepark and there were 5 kids rolling there today.
 
I belive it is, there used to be plenty of bladers in pc but now its craazy, the population is like twice as big.

Ive been skating for 2 days this yr and met a bunch of them its awesome!! many of the skiers too
 
some of my freinds quit.

but then when they quit a couple of kids that i have never seen that arent that bad started skating.

so yeah!
 
I think it is, partly due to skiing but just in general it is making a comeback. Maybe it's jsut because I just started paying attention but there is a huge scene in my area. This guy lives in the same county as me

yes it seems to be, and i think NS is the reason a lot of the time. also its gone from "aggressive inline skating" to "freestyle rolling" which is way cooler. also as more people start, more people would feel comfortable starting just because other people are doing it. its kinda exponential.
 
i dont think its particular to rolling, alot more kids seem to be bmxing and skateboarding as well.....sliding street activities used to be a fringe thing, now its accepted by the mainstream.
 
i skate but i would never say im a roller blader. its fun to mess around and ride some vert but it does hurt a whole lot and i havent even had a bad fall yet.

 
there are so many kids who view skateboarding as a status thing

skating is definitely the "cool" thing to do around here

so they are all cookie cutter skater kids who have ridiculous amounts of hate toward us just cause everyone else does
