Is pipe easier on your knees

I tore my ACL last year and just got cleared by my doc to ski. I wont be able to hi jumps of drop cliffs for a while until i get my confidence and strength back. But is pipe easier on your knees or harder on them b/c i was thinking about riding pipe to try and get back into jumps and other stuff?

i think it depends where u land in the pipe just like any jump... u land perfect in the transition it wont hurt at all, u deck out its gunna kill and u land low in the transition its gunna hurt and easily blow your knee out again... my friend blew his out in the pipe.

not any better, plus if you fuck up can be really brutal on your knees... landing flat or on the tranny can end in surgery a lot of the time.... i would not suggest it for you

Well no it's probably worse, if you hit perfect tranny it's not a problem, but if you deck out or land right in the belly... not fun, I had some minor knee problems going last year from pipe, not really cause of landing flat though just landing forward after alleyoop spins is awkard as hell haha

if you know how to ride transition, and can match tranny from takeoff to landing. impact is virtually gone.
but it takes a lot of pipe riding to learn how to match your trannys

hahaha, but all you need to do is ride a stationary bike for like 30+ mins a day and you'll be strong enough to do anything before too long.

If pipe is done perfectly it's probably better on your knees but the margin for error is my higher so it's probably worse on your knees overall. You should probably start with small jumps and see how they go. Just be careful and don't try anything too hard.
