Is NS still popular among this generation of skiers?

Yeah the offended people on tik tok and ig can fuck off but that’s like 90% of the high schoolers, I think it just takes the right people to find the forum

Tbh all the homies at school who know what NS is lowkey roast me for using it.

does anyone else get clowned by their friends for being on ns?

If ur a core skier and you don’t use NS to find dope ski videos its because someone ripped on something u like or you read a skierman thread

There's quite a few of us college students currently at the U that use the platform, but yeah none of the high schoolers are aware of NS existence as a forum. NS could bring in a lot of money if they simply had a wider selection of merch.

?

Bro have you seen how many people on here talk about the cost of tickets and backcountry snowblades? NS is old, man

Lol one of my first posts ever was something along the lines of like "Clayton Vila IS street skiing"

Some dude called me a kook (rightfully so) and I dont think I posted again for like another 6 months

My first comment was recommending Montec in a gear thread lol. I got flamed so hard and I deserved it. I learned a lot in my first few months on this site haha

I made a NS account because I was sick of the stupid hivemind of reddit and /r/skiing. This community is objectively better

Just a bunch of 20-30 year old skiers who want to fit in with the cool generation ????‼️‼️‼️‼️

I’d say that’s fairly accurate, going over my experiences here I’d say there are two main demographics early to mid 20 year old college and after college kids (where I fall into) that usually ski urban and park as well as some bc. And late 20’s to mid 30’s that ski more bc and all mountain and have moved away from skiing park predominantly. Than you obviously got others like hs kids and people in their 40’s + but those are two most common ones I see.

Pretty sure young people talk about cost of tickets because they don’t have money like old people

Young people don't know how cheap tickets used to be

Hmmm, that brings up another thought. I wonder how many and what the age statistics are on people that use the NS app instead of the browser on their phone or *gasp! an actual computer!

I hate the app. I tried it once but much rather use the browser. Its an even split on whether I use my computer or phone because I check in on my breaks at work. I definitely watch videos at home on the big screen. Much better experience.

Ya I actually completely agree computer is better and I used ns on my computer more then my phone but my computer broke so I think that app is better then the browser on my phone it’s also always right there and it signed me off on the website a lot

I would rather use the app but for me after about 10 minutes on the app it freezes and I have to restart it. So because of that I use the browser on my phone.

That happens to me it’s so annoying

Honestly the bane of my existence. Like I’m just tryna look at reviews for skis I can’t afford is that to much to ask for haha.

i mean, at a time you weren't far off. his segment in Mutiny was what street skiing, and Stept, had wanted to be since inception

I think the only reason I used NS when I was younger was because it wasn't blocked on my highschool's laptops. Sooooooo many classic threads to read!

I am currently in class reading this. newschoolers isnt blocked during school its so awesome

I am in high school and I use newschoolers a fair amount. Once I was skiing with some kids and this kid I never met before met up with us for a run. The kid had a newschoolers sticker on their helmet. I don't remember how ns came up in a conversation but the reply from the kid with the sticker was "newschoolers is a sick instagram page". They had know idea what newschoolers was and thought it was just an instagram page. After I explained what ns the kid tried to convince me I was wrong.

I think it’s big in this age at least in Bozeman. I’m only a junior but some kid in front of me was watching some NS vids in class

Dude fuck Reddit

ask for any ski rec they’ll just say BC 100. I asked for a park ski rec and like 6 people said that ski

I like browsing through the site on my laptop and then getting bored and open my phone to look at notifications and within 5 minutes end up on the ns app for a while. Eventually i'll look up and realize i was halfway done with an essay-length reply to a dolan thread on my computer and just close everything when I realize how much time I waste on here

I wish I would have found NS earlier in HS. I only really started being active my senior year. NS is the only social media that doesn’t make my brain feel like a bag of dicks when I get off it. Unless I was reading an especially bad Dolan thread, then all bets are off

As an avid newschooler in the 2000s is NS still big among the up-and-coming skiers?

As far as I know me and a friends are the only people my age (15) at my hill that really know what it is and use it.

I’m 19, suck at skiing(in newschool terms. I can ski every run and wanna yeet myself more and more every year) but I know newschoolers because I also use discord so these forum or chat things are quite interesting to come across. If anyone knows the Youtuber steepsteep, I’m active on his discord and a couple other ski ones, but this chat also opens the door for conversations on skiing.
