i do not facilitate any external time or resources towards an institution that precedes to obscure financial gain at the cost of living a unadulterated debt free life. cultural/societal assimilation is entertainment for people who don't inquire within and just do what everybody else is doing, the context of education is but a introverts day at the office. those that do will do to those that will not do.

It's not just NS. Most online forums are dying/dead. Facebook killed almost all of them, which is annoying since forums maintain a searchable archive whereas Facebook does not. Forums also allow individuals to post anonymously...which is both a positive and a negative.

The forums that seem to be surviving are those frequented by older individuals who are not as comfortable with Facebook. Places like TGR are still active. I'd imagine there are forums for old-people hobbies such as model airplanes which are still going strong. Unfortunately yes, NS is barely a shell of what it once was.
 
NS is smaller but better because more shitposting. social media is so bland and cocksucky at least NS keeps it kinda real. I normally just read the shits but at this point we might as well pitch in and try to post so it doesn't shut down.

Ns is core as fuck now. Yeah the numbers aren't what they used to be but who cares. Everyone else is caught up in instagram fairy land of bullshit iphone edits and posting stories to check out posts..... Facebook is more dead than vimeo. What's left? The oldest and truest place for skiers to gather... right fuckin' here.

Yeah, have to agree with the Instagram and FB sentiments, forums are ground down due to peoples attention spans being there. NS is so OG though, I remember cruising these forums before anyone knew what a social media even was.

i kinda agree with some of this. i wish NS were as active as it once was, but it's still a gold mine of info and ski stoke, and it's still a great resource

hell, ask a question in Gear Talk and you might get an answer from several legit industry dudes along with other knowledgeable people (and not just J Lev advertising his skis!). instagram is too big and commercial (? or something) for anything like that to happen too much there
