haha i figured it was just the dvd drive my laptops does the same thing i was just making sure it wasnt serious. One more question does anyone use one of those intercoolers?? my friend does and he claims that its basically an essinatal but i dont see why it would be. My 360 is brand new and its never over heated and ive played it for like 6 hours at one time.
Are you going to be playing a lot (like a few hours a day)? It is just something used to keep the temperatures lower inside of the XBOX 360 to minimize "wear and tear." Reviews are mixed on intercoolers and I think overheating is covered under the warranty. Also, the early XBOX 360's were more prone to overheating. Another solution is just to get a PS3, which do not overheat.
a year ago i got the red ring of death... which is actually 3 lights not four...i shut it off and started it again and is was fine so i just went out and got an intrecooler it hasnt screwed up sense... tho it does freeze occasionally
Everything I've ever read said those fans don't work. they interrupt the system's air flow or something. Just keep it upright, on a hard surface, and not in an enclosed area and it'll be fine.
