Is my Utah trip ruined?

Today I found out what mountains our school ski trip is going to this weekend. This whole time, I was expecting Park City, Snowbird and maybe Brighton. I was very excited because it would be my first trip to Utah. Well. . . to my dismay, I learned that thursday - we ski solitude; friday - Brighton; and Saturday - Sundance.

So, is my trip going to be gay? I like park, moguls, and a variety of terrain. Tell me what you guys know about these resorts.

solitude...rarely anyone is ever there and theres some good stuff in the honeycomb canyon. brighton is sick. theres some good woods skiing plus the whole millicent area is dope, long runs with sick lines too, and alot of area to cover. sundance ive never been to, but snowbasin is a sick place that no one ever gos to

We are not going to snowbasin. Just the three. Oh and one other thing, Are there a lot of sick skiers at these places?

yea i was just saying that snowbasin is cool cuz its not known alot

and yea there are always locals who rip. brighton has alot of boarders so they have (at least had when i went last year) a decent park, but with some real good lines to ski else where. i dont remember seeing a park at solitude but udont go there to ski park, id say you go to shred gnar where no one is. lifts are kinda pooey there but makes the snow last longer

ur goin to utah...its a school trip so ur proly goin with a bunch of friends and ull all be in hotel rooms, id say it sounds pretty sick

That wont ruin my trip. I was just wondering if there were good skiers in general. At my mountain, it is a novelty to see a skier riding twins. So I was just looking forward to skiing with someone besides snowboarders and racers.

well . . . We are staying with host families, paking lunches, and only one friend is going. The rest of the kids are the "Show Choir" kids that ski once a year. But hey, its still better than Arizona.

HONEYCOMB CANYON!!! live there while your there!! sudance is a huge piece of shit. i live 15mins away from it and hike my ass up to snowbird for the real deal. sorry bro, besides that you'll be ok

Solitude has some dope tree skiing. Snow stashes stay there for 3,4,5 days after a storm if you know where to look. Find one of the mountain hosts and ask them to take you to shady grove through the powder horn or summit gates. You'll have a blast.

first off your trip will be sick anywhere, and the lack of park on the mountain will make you ski the sick shit more...

but you should probably have gone to alta/bird

i really am saddend that he wonder'd if we are any good at skiing :(

we fucking rip.

thats all you need to know.

you prolly wont see us. but thats ok. we dont want you to.

please dont complain about ur trip being rewind. I jsut went out to snowbird and i was sick every day accept the last day. I started felling the symptoms on tues, we flew out wens and i was to sick to ski, trust me i tried, untill the last day of skiing sun. We flew back on mon and i was healthy enough to go to school today. To make it worse it snowed heavily the whole time, i was sick. But solitude is sick, on a weekend prob better then snowbird cuase no crowds and so is brighton, from what ive heard sundance is like a rich peoples hang out with not so special skiing

I did Solitude, Brighton and Snowbird while I was out there. Solitude was absolutely sick, but was more mellow than the other two, and so was my least favorite of the 3. Solitude is more of a steep but cruiser feel, where brighton and the bird were just steep and gnar left and right.

Get up to the top of millicent and take a left to the traverse when you get off the lift, it's sooooo dope. If you've got a couple of buddies the woods out of bounds at the end of that traverse are GNARLY, but watch for the cliff band. I got cliffed out hardcore there in the woods and had to drop some sketch shit.

They're both amazing, and I'd assume Sundance is pretty sick too.

You're gonna have a blast, just get out and ski as much as possible.

haha ya. its weird. i stole mine. yupp. didnt give it back at the end of the day.

They have some nice steeps over in the honeycomb area. the chairlifts are all really sketchy and slow though.

dude solitude is sick, make sure you go into the glades all the way up and on the left (when you are looking up the mountain)

better then being in school, thats what I'll be doing. Enjoy it skiing is skiing and just one firend is enough to make it a blast. And maybe your host family will have a hot girl or something you never know.

I was at Brighton like 4 years ago and they had a park, so either they got rid of it or improved it dramatically. So don't be too disapointed...

Thanks a bunch. I wasnt sad that I am going to Utah, I was just slightly dissapointed that I wasnt going to Park City. But its still great. Just wanted to know how the resorts were. However, I still havent heard much about sundance, so if you guys could give me a little info on sundance, it would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah brighton is tiiiiigt soo sick and solotude has sick terrain and ask if you can be dropped off at PC before heading to sundance it can be on tha way!
