I was wondering about mount hood's park in the summer, I've heard really goood things about it, but can timberline really keep a good park going in hot weather? I wanted to get some of your guys thoughts and experiences since I'm debating on going there.

They are able to do so much with the snow up there. Last summer i was skiing an almost perfect halfpipe into mint june before i left. Everything was really well maintained plus not nearly as many jerrys to ruin everything

and this was all in the public park. What the camps do up there are amazing also

Just watch summer edits and you'll have your answer.

Hood is gonna be all time this year. There's a 182" base at the lodge right now and they have over 550 inches of snow on the season. Plus it's supposed to snow into next week as well.

Fuck I really got to get to hood...

Thanks to NASA space age technology, T-Line is able to keep their snow refrigerated for up to 562 days at a time.

wow that's almost as many days I skied last season

It's fucking unreal dude....skiing on a glacier, in the sun, with a park, on a huge volcano..and everyone is stoked. Ya that good.

It gets cold at night. And they open early in the morning, so the snow refreezes every night and melts into a slush bucket throughout the day. So everything is reformed and ready to go each day.

Come hike into the canyons with me and my buds and build features instead! So much more rewarding and so many possibilities

What is the public park like? I am Wondering if it will be worth it to go or not.

I was there from late May to mid-June and it started with the half-pipe with 12ish feet walls. Then it was 3 jumps that were medium to largish size. I don't remember their measurements but they were very poppy from what I remember. After that was all rails which they changed up pretty often during the 2 weeks I was there but they always had 15 rails in at least that were always well maintained. If you go to my instagram (linked below) and look back not to far, you can see some of the stuff they had set up

Alright I'll check that out and follow u. I'm planing on a 3 week cross country road trip with my friends and we'll probably stop there cause I love skiing and my friend is a boarder.

Summer skiing is the best thing ever.

Well maybe not as good as pow, but its awesome.

May I ask what your favorite part of summer skiing is? Also what is your favorite place to go?

Skiing park in the summer is rad because it's so slushy most of the time. Especially jumping - it's a great time to practice your jumping.

If you're talking North America then both hood and whistler are awesome if their own way. I went to summer camps in Whistler and worked there for many years at the Camps.

If you like slushy skiing come to the poconos in PA. It's slushy like 90% of the time there but everything is so small. I am looking into going to mount hood this summer possible just going to the public park when I'm gonna be in Oregon but I'm also gonna be in California before that and know mammoth is gonna be open until July 4th. Do u know if they will have Jumps and rails or just normal trails?

I've been to Big Boulder a couple of times when they used to run the SJO. It was a good time!

Mammoth always has at least a few jumps and rails. Later you go, less they have but they're known for their park stuff so there's almost always something there to ride.

Earlier in the summer has more snow, but usually more chance of variable weather. Later, more sun less snow.

Last week of June/first week July always seems to be a relatively good bet to get your best chance of a good mixture of snow/weather.

Big Boulder is great for park, definitely the best around here and best I've been to in the East (haven't been to 7 Spring and a couple of mountains in VT and Maine). I think I'll probably just go to Mammoth then because it is pretty far off the trip to go to mount hood.
