i thought his seg in push pretty much finished his career.. it made him seem like a stunt man rather than a skier... and ever since it seem he keeps getting shat on .... i miss when he was on LINE SKIS hitting the same jumps as candie and cr ... what happend
 
Mike Wilson has always been a stunt man, and is known for going huge and hucking carcuss. I remember when he was the little 14 year old kid shredding the gnar. he has his own style, and he seems to like skiing.
 
Mike was throwing down up here at schweitzer. Road gap. He is also tearing up the mountain on his sleds. he is into the adrenaline rush.
 
MIke Wilson is one of the most enjoyable skiers to watch, he just fuckin kills it. Some of the shit he does off rails is just plain sick. Definitely one of my top teen favorite skiers.
 
Being a high-profile pro skier involves as much schmoozing, babykissing and contract-signing as it does actually skiing. Only the guys most driven to be famous end up getting that kind of attention, whereas some guys prefer to go skiing and huck carcass without hiring an agent to tell everyone about it beforehand. It seems Wilson is one of those guys.

In my opinion, a "ski career" is a relationship between a skier and his skiing, not between a skier and the public's eye. So I'd say Wilson's skiing career is doing just fine.

plus he was into doubles before anyone else, or at least before they were the contest winner hammer trick.

Yeah i remember his double at the vt open quarter pipe. so crazy. Also those Wilson flips. He was way ahead of everybody.
 
his parts in the hit list and TBC were really sick, but like people have said he likes to ski more than suck up to sponsors and all that kind of stuff
 
his part in seven sunny days was kind of bizarre. he went all the way to india to shoot and then they only showed him jibbing that house thing... switch backflip to flat was unreasonable the man must have reinforced knees
 
It's only a "ski career", in the sense that you framed it, if people pay to watch you. The trick with being high profile is only letting people in on the purist dimension of your life; ie the relationship between the skier and his skiing. Thats when you really get people to identify with you in a holistic way. Tanners 'turn' in presentation from "king of the heap" to "i love skiing" elevated him in many peoples eyes...its such a great PR move, maybe he's a lot smarter than we all thought.
 
mike wilson straight killed it in the Frontside moves, if you haven't seen any of them I sugest you take a look.
 
that remains the best couple of minutes in any ski movie ever. anyone who can do that is most certainly not "finished". He'll be making the rest of us look like pussified losers for quite a while yet.
 
gotta love someone whose favorite tricks are small flips. switch backs off the lips of rails. rodeos off small wallrides. dude killed it at southshore soldiers this year.
 
i remember skiing with that cat at hood and he would drop synthetic heroin before slicing the slush. kids a nuts. another time i met him at the msp shoot at squaw a couple years ago and he was still drunk from last nights carnival, so here is this crazy banshy throwing huge rodeos over death gaps lost in the confines of a deep and puzzling head drown. say all you want but anyone who can still shred while high on heroin or drunk deserves a small if not a outstanding amount of respect, for better or worse.... in other news michelle parker was really atracted to him and he blew anychacne i had of hooking up with her! hears to superhuman drug freaks who enjoy wild stunts and rich kid sports!!!!!!!!!!!
 
drunk + hungover hell yes, but I cannot believe for a second Wilson -- or anyone -- could rip on heroin, nevermind whatever crap you are talking about that is 'synthetic heroin'. I mean WTF. first, if you are an opiate addict, you don't even get off the fucking couch, never_mind going skiing. you ever tried flipping around on any other drug besides weed? i mean forget it. and what on earth do you mean by synth heroin? methadone? the shit they give users who are trying to kick the habit? or do you mean just some downers, some ludes or something? i mean if anything, skiing would be conducive to some amphetamines, not downers.

i still watch wilson in my 2001 line team video, the damn thing barley plays teh tape is such crap quality, but wilson rocked then and still knows how to throw, even if on blades liek in teh movie, haha..
 
on the skis he was riding there was very little tip. It seemed really weird to me and I didn't like it but considering the man only broke one ski all season and it was landing switch on the roadgap I would say they qualify as a quality ski.

i saw him like half way through the season up little cottonwood canyon killing. He has his own personal photographer so im sure he will be in some magazines and some movies this year
 
Wilson is out there for sure. The guy has that weird dna strand that alot of top "adreneline" athletes out there have. He on the same hand is one of the nicest pro's I've ever met. He works as hard as anyone out there and proves to everyone that he can do just about anything. After setting a 70 foot gap to down rail up for him I asked him what parks he had been riding, and he replied "non really, this will pretty much be the first rail i've hit all season." He ends up doing a Rodio 5 onto it. The guys has serious skills. Yes his ideas of skiing are different than most, and it's hard to work with that in this industry of perfection and idealism and trying to sell products. So de doesn't really fit in there, and I think that's fine. I would't look for Wilson to ever be a houshold name, but he's definitely got my respect.
 
. I never physically saw mike wilson take the pill, i just heard him talking about doing it before going skiing. I mean the kid is pretty nuts and i believed him. also keep in mind i take this site as a joke and most of the things i say should not be taken seriously.
