i just happened to catch a couple minutes of it, and uma thurman had her ninja sword with her as a carryon on a plane...and everything's so overdone. whats the deal?
 
you havent seen it? Its not like a joke movie or anything. Its just a good movie, very interesting
 
so whats the deal with shit like samurai swords on planes? does it just ignore ideas realistic things like that to be a pure action film?

The movie pays tribute to samurai and martial arts movies in our modern age. Tarantino loves those movies.

All action movies nowadays consist of explosions, large guns and one sided alpha males. Tarantino took an original story line and made it significantly female dominated. In some ways I see it as a parody, but not in a comical sense. Every move is planned to compare to old martial arts movies.
 
Kill Bill is an ultimate ressurection of our Chinese forefathers. starring Uma Thurman and that chinese girl from charlies angels
 
furthermore, she wouldn't be able to take that sword out of the country because it would be considered japanese heritage. you get fined like 15,000+ dollars or get to eat fish heads for awhile in a jail considering japan has like a 90%+ conviction rate.
 
it's an excellent movie. why should they pay attention to every reasonable detail? movies wouldn't be fun if they were totally realistic. the both of them are great movies, i have them both and they're a couple of my favorites.
 
i never said anything about the movie's discrepancies, read my posts. i just wanted to know. man you cant even ask a question in this forum anymore without getting a bunch of 15 year olds getting all pissy
 
your teacher is an idiot, in no way is kill bill a parody. quentin tarantino is just a genious at what he does and thats making amazing movies.

if you like kill bill see pulp fiction and reservoir dogs
 
This may be off topic but whatever. How does she survive being burried alive in the 2nd one, I didn't get to see the rest of it.
 
isn't it based on comic books or somethin? I dunno either way the sword on a plane thing doesn't really bother me, but overally I thought the movie was a lil too out there, and for an action movie it was really boring to watch.
 
It's meant to be entertainment, that's all. It's pretty fun to watch and I don't think it's meant to be a joke, although some parts where definitly funny.

It's not like reserviour (or however you spell it, it's 2 in the morning) dogs wasn't violently overdone.

Also he got inspiration from asian kung fu movies and shit which isn't exactly realistic.
 
theres a obscure rule that when boarding a plane in some countries if the blade is over 15inch's long it is then considered serimonial
 
the story goes back in time to when she learned how to break wood from like 2 inches away or something, then she does it in the coffin and crawls out of the ground. i hate that part because im so clostrophobic (sp?)
 
I also saw a little of the first on on tv last night, and I don't understand why these movies are so great. I guess they had their moments but not on my top 5.
 
It's based from Japanese Anime.

Hence all the crazy blood and shit.

Tarintino is a genuis, Killbill Vol 1 + 2 are brillant.

I highly suggest sitting down and watching both, no fucking joke.

Oh and a comment for above..your teacher is a dumbass.

 
I really wonder why you're so concerned about Uma bringing her sword on an airplane when she's doing moves in that movie that are defying gravity and yet it doesnt bother you?
 
i told you i saw about 5 minutes of the movie when i made this thread man. read the post before attacking the poster, please and thanks.

and i did sit down and watch both the movies yesterday. the first one was fun to watch obviously because of the pure action with disregard for any logic or physics, but i still dont see why people worship the movie. and the second one? im sorry but it was just not fun to watch. 5 point palm finger technique? give me a break
 
The alternate title was called "Samurai swords on a plane" but then Samuel l Jackson got a better offer from another "on a plane" type movie. so yeah. I think.
