not everyone from new york is what you guys up there think. its good when people make threads lke these to get the word out to people who don't know that much about vermont, aka me. so a lot of you need to get your heads out of your asses and realize not everyone from new york is a guido.

and i'm defiantly going to hit up jay, i've been planning on it for a while and there is basically nothing any of you can do about it

Absolutely. Entirely fictional. Everyone is better off skiing at Sugarbush or something. I hear the snows much better there.

Jay is a figment of everyones imagination.
 
Actully the way i will be able to tell that ur from new york is cuz you will be skiing all shitty spots and wont know any of the good stashes. Thats fine come up and ski give the area some money. Jay is big enough that u can always find snow. You just cant be lazy.

how close is canada to jay peak? i know its close but is it possible to just go over the border at night? good bud in canada near there? any tips would help
 
Jay is very close to Canada, but there is NOTHING in Canada in that area as far as I know.
 
going out of your way to say how shitty everything about a resort is obviously sarcastic and doing just the opposite, and i would rather have fellow newschoolers and freeskiers there instead of the recreational, once a year wealthy type of gapers. so stop claiming its a bad resort and hating here on newschoolers and take it up with ski magazine who rates the resorts and calls resorts like jay a "hidden jem" since it does just the opposite

i dont think anyone is being sarcastic. I am working there this year and its really not that great. Its always cold and windy.
 
Jay Peak's sick ive only been there once but the glades were the best around for sure. Not only that but the backside of Jay is awsome if you can catch a ride back to the mountain. Jay Peak is sick if you can get up there or spend the weekend.

all i have to say is FUCK YOU, and enjoy the new hotel/indoor water park jay is going to start construction on soon. skiing is something fun to share with people, not hoard for yourself you fucking greedy bastard. your the reason why resort go out of business. all you want is the fucking mountain for yourself, and you don't realize without the massholes and dirt jerseys the lift wouldn't be turning to bring your selfish ass up the mountain
 
Jay gets most of it's income from canadians. Not Jersey or Mass.

Stowebum might've been a prick in his response, but anyone who skis Jay as a local, knows that his don't tell people about Jay is commonplace among local rider. No one has a problem with the mountain growing. It's the open tree skiing policy and lax rope ducking enforcement that we're afraid to lose. I hope I never see the typical Mt Snow/Stratton crowd at Jay. It will ruin what Jay stands for.
 
I wish I could say I'm a local up there..... more a local at heart, but that's what even I'm worried about. That new hotel could be real trouble.....
 
anyone saying Jay peak blows...either has never been there...or went there on a shitty day. Jay does exaggerate their snow accumulations a tad, but they do get more snow then anywhere else in the east. Their glade skiing is incredible. I was there on December 12th 2008 and was skiing in pow up to my knees! and they just got 70 inches of snow in 7 days...with it still falling...and a noreaster predicted for this monday and tuesday hoping for between a foot and 2 feet of fresh snow... so for anyone who skis Mt Snow, Stratton, Killington, etc. and pays 75 for a day ticket and skis with out of staters every weekend who dont know what they are doing, and only go to those places becuase people they know go there can eat a big fat diiiiiiiiick....Jay is the best the east has to offer.
 
...... minus the fact that it's always cold as shit, rains a ton, is full of canadians, and americans, and is so flat that you can't even get speed..... oh yeah and anytime it does snow they groom it into the ground......... oh and did i mention the ski patrol that will break your kneecaps if you try to ski in the trees (the few that are left after some rednecks cut them down with chainsaws?)

you'd probably have better luck skiing in your backyard.
 
Wow, are you guys honestly fighting over who can and cannot go some place? Let it be, were all grown up... well most of us are, but why bicker? Its not even worth your breath.
