Is it worth playing?

so the other day I quit lacrosse because I told my coach to shut up and he made me run 16 laps around the whole field. Now the main head coach of varsity (i'm on jv) is telling me to "think it over". We are two games into the season with about 15 left. Should I go back and play or not. I really don't want to play but I don't know if it is a good desicion to quit.

note-All throughout preseason I was thinking about quiting and now I finally have so this has been going back and forth in my head for a while

I think you made the right choice. You're only young once and shouldn't waste your time doing stuff you dislike. And the coaches sounds like they're dicks!

Just keep working out a bit, so that you don't become a fat bastard

all coaches are fucking douchebags. think it over. as long as you have somthing to do when you quit (such as skateboarding, golf, or whatever your hear desires) id say go for it. If you have nothing to do when you quit... ponder the possibilites son!

i can't answer this question for you, but i'll tell you i know coaches can suck balls. But there are other aspects to the team than just coaches though. High school sports are a pretty good experiences to look back on. Think about the team mates-- are you good friends with these guys? I'm assuming you're not a senior so your not thinking about that 'last game' but it's a pretty crazy feeling, even if you did hate the coaches, so it's worth considering-- sticking it out till the end is pretty rewarding.

i'd suggest being on some team some how so do what you gotta do, but try to push yourself to make an accomplishment.

Man I would say just stick it out. You really can't imagine just how much you'll miss it. Being a senior and already finished with my last soccer season I want to play so bad. You'll look back at all the times the coach pissed you off and laugh. You'll remember it as a learning experience that made you a better person.

Also, respect your coach. I don't know anything about your coach but he is still older than you and probably knows more than you. He puts in a lot of hours to get the team ready and you should respect that.

Well this comes down to something. Respect. i think you should join the team again. The only reason you ran is because you were disrespectful to your coach. sure maybe he is a dick for making you run so much but he did this to teach you a less. Do not disrespect him. I think if you go back to the team you will feel good bout your self because you wont be a quitter. Personally i think you should go back to the team, tell the coach your sorry. team sports make you a stronger person and teach you how to perserve. id say do i, prove that coach and yourself wrong. and yeh this is the time to play sports, i hate not playing football anymore it sucks.

this is why i love my soccer coach, he is just like another kid on the team. he lets us say whatever we want, and just fuck around. although we do run a fuckload for conditioning. we had field goal kicking comps the past 2 practices cause he is going back to college as a kicker and they're paying his full tuition and shit haha.

anyways, just do whatever you think is the right thing?
