Is it worth it to rocker my skis?

im 5'4"and my skis are 4FRNT STLs 175 with 104 under foot and about 130 tip/tailthey are a little hard to keep the tips up in powder so thats why i want to rocker themthey are also a little heavy(if that matters)also...is there a possibility of permanent damage if you rocker skis?
so the final question is.... should i attempt to rocker them this summer

yeah but rockers are a lot more fun and im pretty sure i have decent technique because i can easily ski pow on my center-mounted 166 foils which are 85 underfoot, i just want a ski that really charges and is super fun

not worth it to rocker your skis....if you dont snap the cores while attempting to rocker them, the rocker will go away within a couple weeks, and then your skis wont have any life left in them

Really?

Well i sure have.

This year i rockered my Silencers and they've been the exact same since the day i did it. If anyone wants to know how to do it i believe theres a thread about it, but if not PM me and ill give you all the details you need. And also, it makes the ski so much more fun, but i would strongly suggest you do it on a shitty/urban ski like i did, cause there is a very great chance of fucking up the ski.

silencers are foam core aren't they? maybe thats the difference. maybe foam is more receptive to heat and flexing of rockering than a wood core that could break during the process.

yeah dude ive personaly never heard of anyone "rockering" their skis themselves.

if you want rocker, just buy some! theres plenty to choose from these days. keep your 4frnts how they are and dont make a mistake by trying to "rocker" them.

thats jus my 2 cents

theres been threads on how to do it, but yes a good chance you destroy the skis. Really learn how to ski pow though, 104 underfoot is more than enough. The reason for fatty rockered skis for most is because they can not ski pow, while for some of us it is just for fun. I started skiing pow on 175 GS skis with specs of about 100-70-88, and that was everything from one inch inbounds to waist deep backcountry epicness. I think people should learn on those so they get the form right.

honestly, I wish fatty skis and rockered skis never came out, because 95% of kids now wouldn't be skiing it without them and it would leave more for me!

read the whole thread: yeah but rockers are a lot more fun and im pretty sure i have decent technique because i can easily ski pow on my center-mounted 166 foils which are 85 underfoot, i just want a ski that really charges and is super fun
i just want it for fun

You can definitely rocker skis pretty easily you just have to know how to do it right. I think there's a thread on here somewhere about how to rocker skis. As for it being worth it, idk you probably just need to change your technique in powder. That and if you center mounted your skis it's gonna make it harder to ski powder but I ride my PC's in powder and they're pretty close to centered and way narrower than what you're riding on.
