heres the thing, my buddy bought a pass to squaw, alpine,northstar, and boreal. to sae me a boat load of money this season. which of these resorts are real critical and sketchy. im sure some of u guys use ur friends passes i useto in vermont all the resorts there didnt really care and check but im sure its different out west. i look like my buddy and prob would pass on his id for buying beer if i wasnt of age. would def help me out in saving a bunch of loot this season

You might be able to get away with it at Boreal... Squaw, Northstar, and Alpine all have automated systems that show the cardholders face up.

I did get away with this a few times at Alpine last year by covering my face up mostly, and being aware that my name was not Sean at the base of the mountain lol. This one liftie girl always hung out with us and I had to pretend my name was Derek so she A: wouldnt hate me and B: wouldnt turn me in if I got on her badside somehow lol.

Either way. I dont recommend it... if you get asked for your card by the patrol, and get caught with your friends card, they can fine you to the maximum, which is quite hefty.

ive done it at boreal, its easy just cover your face up. boreal is "fenced in" so to say so they check your pass once and your in, unless you go back to the lodge.

Dont be retarded, this is something you either do, or dont do. Don't voice it! I dont want to hear about you contemplating about being a douche.

Buy $90 lift tickets, $10 french fries, and a $15 parking spot to support rich ski area investors you cheap motherfucker.

if your buddy is friends with people who work at these resorts, like the shops and stores around the mountain, they can probably hook you up with cheap employee tickets. ive gotten ones for 25 bucks to north star, its so nice

take an id from ur friend, if u look a bit the same (hope he's not black ) u can easily pretend to be him! or u say u have no other id with u! if the pic matches how can they catch u?

This would work if they did not look at the Id closely at all. Otherwise you pretty hope your identical twins with your friend, which would make him your brother?.
I have had some friends do this and get away with and some not.
Really the question is are you prepared to deal with the consequences if you get caught?

Support corporate companies? They definitely do nothing for our "industry". Ski resorts make all of their money of tourists, not pass holders.

Uhh dude.. lets say you buy a pass to Park City, you are definitely supporting the industry.
Without the income of pass holders there very well would be no ski hills

maybe at boreal but my uncle works at squaw and they catch a bunch of people who try and use other peoples passes

Oh, thats why Park City charges what, 90 bucks for a day pass? Do you know how many people buy day passes EVERY WEEK at Park City? Hundreds. Their pass holder income equals probably one to two weeks of "normal" day pass sales.

Did you know 53.6% of all statistics are made up on the spot?
Ski hills are designed around tourism but there is no way that a ski hill would market season passes without them being profitable.
The point is the two are interdependent, for a ski hill to remain operational.

Maybe some resorts make money off of their pass holders, but big resorts like Park City, Keystone/Breck/Vail, Mammoth, Snowbird, etc they make most of their money from tourists and the pass holder money pays the foreign workers washing dishes and cleaning the lodge.

Interdependent... look the word up.
A = pass holder income
B = day ticket and miscellaneous
C = Operational ski area
A + B = C
Do I really have to make this more simple for you?
A and B may be weighted differently but again, they are interdependent.

I'm as liberal as the next guy and I hate big business...

but name a ski resort, which has all the top amenities of today's ski areas that we love... that is NOT owned by a corporation, or at least is being run by some kinda large business entity.

I'm stumped, personally.

of course its shady!! thats not even a question... should you do it? thats more of a moral issue. are you cool with stealing? if so stick it to em. Who are we to judge. If you like the resort and want to support it get a job and buy one urself. I hate big business but if you want to stick it to em, park ur car and hike the mountain! u dont need a chair lift to ski. It surely puts it into perspective when you spend four hours hiking for 15 min of skiing. Season pass costs are small drop in the fun bucket.

dont do it.. some places might make you buy a ticket and kick you off. some may have you arrested and banned for life.. in colorado they throw in a trespassing charge which is quite a rape. my buddy was passesd out at his house in portland and a girl snagged his pass and took it up to ride she got caught forced to buy a ticket and then his pass was blocked for a month.. he went back and pleaded his case on the fact it was stolen from him and they did not cancel it.

but just wait til people are done with there tickets and get a new zip tie.. easy.. no pealing... if it is a wicket ticket know your shit.. look for codes and if its a youth boy girl. and how it was payed for.

in the end dont do it.. pay for the privalge NOT to work at a ski area and enjoy the fuck out of it.. peace... big up to woop.

My friend who was a Telluride local his entire life let his friend use his pass for ONE day. He got caught, and was denied a ski pass for two years... he now lives in Breckenridge, away from his family & friends, so he can ski, and is hating life. I don't recommend it, for yourself and your friend's sake. Just my two cent.
