Is it morally wrong to be a porn star?

pornstars have perfectly normal lives besides of course their more unusual (for lack of a better term) job

one could argue that being a lawyer for a giant corporation is immoral because you're probably going to be ripping people off for millions of dollars
 
is she the average pornstar? no. of course there are weird ass people in porn but there are equally weird people outside. lots of them just do porn for their job and go home and have a 'normal' life
 
I guess I would define a porn star as just that, a porn star. Someone who does porn is different that a porn star to me. Guess thats where we got the mix up.
 
Its not regulated in Vegas. Its still illegal street walkers get arrested and shit. Goes on of course.

Sex industry is dirty. Just a fact. Porn doesn't really reflect healthy consensual sex either. Porn degrades women more than men. But strip clubs degrade men more than women (lap dances dollar bills etc.)

As for those who have relationships with sex industry girls...watch out. You are not the only man in their life and these women do not go through life by showing up to jobs to get money, they get money from making men think they like them and building relationships with them to get what they want (be it making a guy one of a few boyfriends, a sugar daddy, or just regular customer.) Of course they will seem fucking cool.

Now...at the end of the day porn/prozzies iust a victimless crime though nothing to really hate on but porn stars don't deserve adulation or to be held as role models. Basically...Its cool...if its not your mom/daughter doing that shit.
 
Do you have any experience with any of these areas except the internet, TV, and talking shit with your friends? Sex work IS just work. People who are car sales people don't try to rip you off all day, like seriously where do you get this shit. And as for the your mom/daughter piece, how would it be cool for someone to do it but not others? It's either okay or it's not? If you're not cool with it, don't do it, and don't watch porn.

Sex industry exists. There are guys who don't smoke/drink/gamble/drugs and their thing is to buy a hooker once a week or go to the strip club. They are free to do this but I think its pretty sad.

Bascially...that shits OK in small doses. If you want to occasionally move up from your rub and tug and get a private full nude massage and strap a rubber on and hammer away good for you. Using fucking backpages or prosititutes as a way of meeting your next girlfriend if bad fucking news. (And I know from good friends buying stupid washed up hooker bitches rolex's and shit.)

It really shouldn't, just because society views these things as repulsive (for lack of a better term), doesn't mean thats how you should judge them. Now obviously with murder or assault or something its different, but I mean shit, it's just the entertainment industry, or it could be a couple exploring their sex life, which theres nothing wrong with.

I looked pretty in depth into the logistics of becoming a male sex worked who would do things with gay men. Not for me, but you can make like 200-300 an hour, so imagine spending two hours with someone and then having the week off instead of working at mcdonalds... that'd be sick.

The biggest thing I would have a problem with other than safety is that I would have a hard time being completely honest with people I dated after the fact because there is a pretty big stigma around sex work.
 
no because you are paying her (because you pay a hooker, i dont know if you meant to state that or not) and paying someone to have sex is wrong, BUT if you have sex and you both get paid by a company that owns an entertainment business for adults then it isnt wrong because of the legal aspect
 
I think no one can deny the fact that porn objectifies women.

Also I think some people here need to realise what the porn industry really is. It's no coincidence if a lot of porn actresses have a history of physical abuse/rape/etc. If you leave out the most known actresses and the "clean" part of the industry which represents a ridiculously tiny part of the whole industry, it leaves you with a lot of actresses not taking any pleasure in it, girls thinking their body does not even belong to them anymore, girls doing it because if they don't, someone else will, and they need the money.

So, I have no problem with the idea of porn, but the reality of porn is a whole different story. Most of these girls would rather be doing something else for a living but had no "real" choice here.

So yeah, porn is great, and I like porn as much as the next guy, but it's not as "clean" as it was in the 80's. Bukkake, rape porn, etc. seriously, that part of the industry just saddens me.

I saw a documentary a while back about the other side of the industry, and after hearing those girls stories, you realise they never stood a chance.

Bottom line is, it's a two faced industry, and most of it has nothing to do with girls just doing it because they like it.
 
In both cases the person would be paying another person for sex. The fact that in one case it is being filmed and saved for later seems irrelevant, which is why I was quipping before.
