I agree, yes trolling on NSG, and NS in general has gotten way out of hand, but are we, the non-trolls partly to blame?

Most of us are much too quick to respond to a thread, spouting hate and nasty quips, and postwhoring at trolls and non-trolls alike. To the trolls, we're doing exactly what they want, we're feeding them and keeping these rediculous threads alive instead of letting them quickly die or be deleted by a mod. And to the non-trolls that we are so quick to attack, all that we're achieving is more hate filled threads between us. Yes somebody might not share your opinion, but that doesn't mean they're blank blank blank. whatever, my two cents, don't mean to jack your thread, just something to think about.
 
as for the moods not all mods are green some of them are still blue but i think any troll should just get an ip band and there out for good
 
IMO it's fine if it stays in NSG, when it starts moving to GT and B/S/T, that's when it gets out of hand.
 
I think the only mods that are still blue names are those that are in cults.

Fact is really there is only iggyskier, Rowen, the guy with the Misfit icon, Sky Unit, Ashley, Jodi, and 3 or 4 others maybe. The other like 10... haven't been on in years.
 
might not be a bad idea to have a few mods with non-green names. Undercover mods. then we can start epic spy vs spy type situations.

What bothers me is how people blame this on summer. NSG has always sucked, but as pointed out, it used to suck in a hilarious way. Not just stupid 1 liner shit that somehow turns into 30 pages.

I still think they should let a few clear troll threads grow a bit, then ban everyone involved.

What if you just call out new kids who aren't trolls like me and delete they're threads when they're just trying to figure out the website?! cough cough like me cough cough
 
this forum we are in right now has like 30% good material 70% shit

that is being a good mod imo to remove the people causing the shit

2-3 years ago this site was nothing like this

if i was on ns in the golden days i think i would just leave because it is fucking terrible now compared to what i imagine it was like
 
When I showed up in 2006 it seemed much MUCH more like TGR... you step out and act like an ass the mods would ban you for really stupid shit but the members would run you off the site beforehand.
 
abortionator definitely trolls, but like you said, its almost an art. There's a difference between doing something to get a laugh out of some people and posting 20 threads saying "i ate some of my poop today"

its pretty bad when im almost relieved to see some of the older trolling.

I think my biggest problem is that I'm hanging on to what NS used to be, its like an addiction that I can't control

I must admit though, its nice to see so many people defending her in the last few hours, people that legitimately care about the site
 
Even though I am new, I want all these dumb trolls to go away so that when serious people ask questions everyone doesn't call them trolls. It seems like Non-Ski Gabber or NSG is crap, Newschoolers.com need to get its shit together. I'll also help by being a serious contributing member and making quality posts unlike most of the post whores on here.
 
Ya the problem is though that once people become mods on here they seem to just disappear or idle for long periods of time.
Not quite as bad as Yeti but usually 10-20minutes. I realize you guys have a life outside of NS so that's cool but I would seriously start considering more moderators to clean up the trash that is NSG (even if just for the summer)
 
Fucker I lost the game...and yea I've noticed it too I don't really get why people see the need to make a thread every other day but it gets real annoying real quick.
 
Jordan you rule. I've been contemplating making a thread like this for a while.
All summer ns aside, kids are trying to bring 4chan to ns, which just isn't how it works or will ever work. They need to learn to bring the ns to ns, or get the fuck out, because non of it's funny at all, or works, it's just a waste of bandwidth and time.
Rant more later, have to go to work :/
 
Quantity of mods is not really the issue, in my honest opinion. There are a good number of us that are readily active.

The issue I have found is the balancing point is hard to find. Some want us to rule with an iron fist, while others want us to be more relaxed.

I listen to the requests of established members and try to take into account their viewpoints when making decisions on how to handle this balancing act. Which is why PM's to us about things you think should be deleted are so helpful.

If the majority want us to be more strict, then by all means, majority rules and I will start deleting more, and banning more.
 
There's also a ton more members, with newer generations moving in. You have to realize that a lot of the older members didn't grow up on the internet like a lot of the newer members do. The internet changes with the generations and we definitely have a huge influence/influx of that. You all say you want to be moderators, but really think hard about that...cause your membership changes when you do. You are no longer a blue name. I respect that you want to do it, and one way to put yourself out there is to help us out, not just talk about how horrible NS(G) is becoming. It can be controlled, but simply adding new moderators isn't always the answer. Having the influence of older/respectable/true NS members in the forums helps too.
 
I would throw in my ballot for mod too, anything to help out. But what's been said makes sense, so you'll definitely be seeing more PM's from me in the future.
It's understanding that the generations are changing and with that morals won't be the same yada yada yada. But there has to still be some form of respect if any at all. I have loads of respect for those above me and the ones who pioneered this, but if you're coming in below me thinking and acting as if you're above everything that people have spent years building then there needs to be some sort of reminder to but them in their place.
I can enjoy a good troll as much as the next one, but doing it for the sake of doing it without thought or care isn't original or funny at all. None of your posts are taken seriously and is mostly seen as an annoyance and not an amusement at all..
I'm have sure I'm just ranting right now, but I think you get the idea, now I'm actually off to work...
 
ive had like 5 multi page threads deleted this summer tis bullshit sure they were origiannyl retatred but alot of them were pretty funny to read its annoying when you leave ns and come back and ur shit is deleted and you dont even get to see the chaos that caused it to be

i say you all stop being such pussies most of the real troll threads die adnt he ones that get going are usually pretty funny in my opinion the mods are deleting too much shit latley

whats more fun than internet beef? giving karma to people who use proper punctuation? thats homo
 
Like what has been said before this forum has just gotten more and more ridiculous in the summer. Now i think it's just dumb to blame sumer because summer should not have anything to do with the only non ski related forum on the site. NSG should be the only thing on this site that doesnt change in terms of quality as the seasons change. I believe the mods should be running this site with the iron fist approach when it comes to dumb ass threads. The mods know about the big names such as Bigger_Spence and the more trolly big names such as Lil_Pony and Lat that only troll to provide us with comedic support during the summer. But the little kids making threads about cum and shit is just gross and not needed on this site
 
i think part of the problem comes from everyone saying "what do you expect, it's summer NSG" and shit like that every time they see a stupid thread. Now all these dumb kids who have nothing to do are like lol everyone hates how shit is retarded in the summer, i've got nothing to do, might as well go on ns and fuck shit up. I think the fact that everyone expects NSG to be full of crap in the summer is the reason why it is so. Just my 0.02$
 
Every forum has trolls, go spend a week on other forums and you'll realize this. NS isn't even that bad to be quite honest.
 
I will have to decline this offer as this might interfere with my running in my local village elections.
 
if i were a mod there'd probably be about 45 people left on this site. And that number would most likely progressively drop until it was just me.
 
i have yet to see a difference between fall winter spring and summer on ns. i think the summer ns bullshit maybe used to apply, but it's now mostly bullshit 24/7.
