Is it against the rules to bitch about a deleted thread?

Cause that one about the TGR thread was freakin hilarious.

Made my day reading the two threads on my lunch break. Came home from work and one is gone.

haha i dono. i was wondering why that thread was deleted. probably some political bullshit. oh well.
a funny thing ive noted, though, is any time i'm looking through My Threads, almost all of the "What happened to my _______ thread?" threads are deleted haha

It's not against the rules, but it's sort of like bitching at a referee about getting a penalty: maybe he'll think twice in future, maybe he'll discuss the decision with the other refs after the game, and maybe he'll remember you and single you out somewhere down the road... but he's sure as fuck not going to change his mind just because you complained.

As for that thread, it started out pretty fucking funny and stopped being funny when everyone started an e-slap fight over which forum was cooler. Which is pretty much the lamest thing I can think of. We all enjoy sliding around on snow with planks of wood strapped to our feet, so hate is totally unnecessary.

amen.

totally agree.

i actually found the whole thing quite amusing until the bullshit NS bandwagon had to start..

Phil, obviously you read a little bit about it over on TGR. I think it is good to bring it up here to bring a little bit of light to the situation.

it was deleted because people on NS couldn't take a joke and went over to TGR acting like immature idiots spouting off homosexual insults which in turn makes everyone on NS look like an asshole.

The longer it was up, the more people from NS would go over and make an ass of themselves.

Yeah this whole instant go to the "you're gay" insult thing is making us look fucking LAME.

People rag on NS for being immature, and then everyone jumps out in public and shows that we are. I mean really, learn to take a joke. When you need to bitch at someone, don't just call them a Fag, that just makes YOU look stupid. Make a funny retort, take the joke in good humour, and above all stay classy.

If you don't then you just prove to the world that we ARE a bunch of whiney 14 year old kids.

I know we aren't, so next time we go out into the public as a group, lose the gay insults and name calling. Its lame and immature.

Today I am ashamed of Newschoolers.

I totally agree. The whole thing was pretty funny until it turned into NS and TGR posters seeing who could use "fag" the most in a sentence. Very poor taste NS. The TGR maggots are always claiming how they are so mature and better than us and they finally sink to "our level" (stalkerish Tall-T photo thread) and NSers just ended up making asses of themselves in the end. Giving the rest of us a bad rap.

I mean the funny thing was.....that Tall-T thread was funny.

I really don't think it was meant to be stalkerish at all. I just think those guys happen to witness something that to them, and to many on here I hope, was funny.

I mean....come on. Getting caught stretching your tall-T out outside a ski lodge is funny regardless of who you are.

The whole issue here is that there was no maturity to the NS response.

Instead of being like...."hahaha wow that is funny. You all may think that is a clownish way to dress, but it is just clothing and they are just skiers, two are which happen to be amazing park skiers....

Cue sick Wallisch video"

It was.....

"wow. how can you people on a big mountain-oriented website talk shit about park skis who you don't give a shit about? you must be gay."

Repeat.

That reaction does nothing.

People need to have a sense of humor about this stuff and get on with their lives. It is just the internet.....

Honestly it was both groups of people doing it. Idiots came out of the woodwork from both sites.

It just so happened that our main "idiot" happened to be a Mod, therefore even furthering the horrible light it shed on NS.

hahahaha wonder what they will say when they see the thread has been deleted. Wonder if they will delete theirs? Now that would be funny.

They saw, repeated demands for an explanation were made, and it was generally agreed that the action under discussion was "lame".

I'm pretty sure that whining about the deleting of an internet thread is the most pathetic thing I have ever heard.

I'm sure you read the thread on TGR. Didn't you see the high amount of immaturity coming from TGR?

I had a brief conversation with JD about this, via PM. If you go to page 7 of their thread, JD comes in and gets heckled by a troll.

Now, I thought aliases were simply an NS thing. You know, some teenage kid comes home after school and thinks it would be funny to post hate from an alias. But a "grown man"? That's pathetic to me. These guys claim to be so much more mature, but they go and spew hate on an Internet message board?

Like I said, I know my father doesn't have time to go online and shit talk 17 year olds. All I can picture when I go on that site is a bunch of angry 40-something businessmen that go home from work and hop on TGR all night.

Bottom line, the amount of "gay" jokes in that thread was pretty damn close to the amount of "gay" jokes in ours.

yes but the TGR guys are just joking whereas some kids on here were truly offended. if you don't wear tall tees and xxl pants, the people who do look like idiots to you so it's fine to make fun of them. i would say that from what i've witnessed TGR is more mature than ns and that thread totally proved it, they made a joke, ns got really pissed off and started whoring tgrthe immaturity of ns was definitely shown through that thread with the gay jokes and kids saying "god i could own those tgr guys" first of all, they have no idea, second of all, i highly doubt some 14 year old park rat riding on dumonts his mom bought him could "own" a guy who competed in the freeskiing world tour...ns can be awesome, but that thread was not one of its finer moments, i don't see what the big deal was, how can you be offended by that? imo it was pretty damn funny, some kids need to lighten up a bit and laugh at themselves for once

First and foremost, the gay jokes thing is pathetic, whether it is on here or on there. It is just ridiculous.

Second, you idea that they are all a bunch of angry 40-something business men is off. The average TGR age member is only a few years old then NS at around 28 years of age (pretty sure average NS age is around 20). A lot of them do have children, but a lot don't.

While there are business man, denitists, etc, those guys for the most part know their shit and a lot of those guys are putting in 50+ day skis season.

And a lot of the other ones that are not business man or whatever work in the ski industry. Ski companies owners, professional skiers (Townsend, multiple IFSA riders, etc), shop guys (owners, managers, shop guys, boot fitters), resort guys, tourism guys, magazine writers, ski lodge managers. People who work in skiing as a career. And a lot basically ski bums.

So to suggest that people on TGR are any less into skiing than on here would be wrong. Was their reaction immature? Some of them, yeah no doubt. The gay joke stuff in particular is pretty hypocritical.

But this isn't about their response, because that is their perogative.

This is about NS and how we express ourselves out in the ski world. In this case, NS came out looking like a bunch of idiots. People need to relaize going on a ski forum full of insutry people and calling them call faggots makes us looks like idiots and relfects very poorling on NS.

Now that you have gotten to my post....go back and read Iggy's again because he nailed this whole issue in that post

The fact that this is still an issue is kinda sad...it was a funny post and some people got butt hurt and can't take a joke...too bad...

Every IFSA comp I go to, I hear people talk shit about NS because of the sticker on my helmet. It's threads like that that make us look like idiots and immature fucks. I'm only 17, I like to act like a 5 year old at times just for shits n' giggles, but I don't straight up outdo myself like whoever was on that thread did...I definitely thought there were more mature people on NS than that.
