I was thinking this summer of building a water ramp into a lake by my cabin with astro turf and stuff for the inrun.

The lake is super deep and stuff but im wonderin how big you can safly make the jump and whats the impact on the water like.

any thoughts?

well people cliff dive off of 100 foot cliffs so i doubt any ramp you make will hurt you THAT much. it might be kinda sketchy tho

you are not going to want to go too high in the air. the reason it doesnt hurt in a real water ramp is because they have bubblers breaking up the surface of the water, if you land of unbroken water, its not going to feel great. but i would say as long as you are not more than 10-12ft in the air go for, it would be dope!

Wow guess someone from Holland finally can talk about something here haha. U dont need bubblers for breaking up the surface. Dont know why but if u check this site u will see. But how do u want to get enough speed for a nice jump? U will need a lot of wood than!

So check out nd u will see:

The other thing I would be afraid off is losing my ski in the lake. Maybe put you DIN very high so you dont lose them in the water.

impact might hurt a little but make sure ur wearing a safety device cause i tried that and the skis will pull u down fast...almost shat myself

well its like this, you won't be able to carve well off the lips so tricks will be like half impossible. And ayou will need like MUNDO lumber to make it. But if you do, just hook water bottles to the front and back of your skiis.

Weel than u def need to built it!! Would be so cool!!! Just wear lifejacket as armor and for not going to the bodom

I'd use something different than astro turf for the surface, but I don't know what. And building a sturdy jump out of wood isn't an easy task.

In steamboat springs the water ramps are into a lake without bubblers

But at the utah winter sports park they use bubblers as well as at lake placid.

Seems like a really good idea, you should let me know where your lake is so I can come session it this summer.
