Is Head now cool?

Head has always made great products....there image as a brand has always been "uncool" in my opinion....doesnt mean there skis suck....they are actually really good solid skis....maybe with dumont on board they will actually develope a larger twin tip line with decent graphics....I think thats all they need to be considered "more cool" on ns. Skis are good, graphics are lacking, team is lacking...but things are looking up for head.
 
They have always made a quality product, just b/c they don't pour money into having a team and creating an image doesn't mean they don't make good stuff. J.O. pros are def one of the top ten best park skis IMO.
 
If they were ever cool, now they definitely are not.

think about their past riders Johnny Mosely, Jon Olsson they gave both of them pro models thats what they will do with dumont so i think they might start to make good twins
 
Head have always made high quality gear. I rock the boots and while they are a bit heavy, they fit well so I love em really.

Saw The Dudemont at Keystone today, he was skiing head skis. And had his cocky dudemony face on.

Still the same quality skis, but definitely on more peoples radar now. I'm also pretty excited to see what kind of skis they will be putting out for dumont, hopefully not all geared towards pipe.
 
Hopefully they expand their descriptions of their twin tips now. Last time I bought skis I was considering them cause I knew they made great skis, but it was hard to track down info about their park stuff. Never saw them i shops or in real life, never knew anybody who was on them. Only thing's I've heard are the jo pros are very light. Like they could at least describe their skis a bit better on the site, in terms of flex and such.
 
I use the JO Pro's for All mountain skiing. The SBC79 is my favorite for park. I like a smaller ski underfoot for rails and the JO Pro is a little bigger. I think both skis are pretty soft and easy to play with but yet stable enough for big jumps.

"Kiss of Death" for deep powder and "Inferno" for just charging.

Those are the skis I what I think if that helps at all.
 
The question you have to ask yourself is not if they make quality skis. But, do they give a shit about our sport or are they just throwing money into the game. They are not supporting freeskiing events or trying to grow the sport. They want in for the Olympics.
At the end of they....they would rather have Lindsay Von over Dumont. Their Race team is a lot bigger than their Freeskiing team. Good for Dumont to go whoever will pay him the most.
Support REAL Freeski brands not big brands trying fake like they care.

You say head doesnt support freesking... Well if i recall: ON EVERY JOSS JUMP in past years there is a BIG Head logo... the game is different in Europe dude, get your facts straight!
 
J.O pros have been a solid ski for HEAD. Although they are a bit out of touch, obviously they are making efforts to improve their view within the freeski market.
 
yeah this i know, my point was that head is a big contributor to events like that, but yeah their Am team is pretty underground

didnt read much of this thread but Head has a strong customer base (has for a very long time) and its only going to grow with Simon coming on board. you kids buy skis because your favorite pro says they are the best.... thats retarded. make up your own opinions about skis only after you have ridden them.
 
I used to only ski on K2. I got sponsored by Head. This was back in the early 90's. They were not considered a "cool" brand back then either. It took me less than half a run to become hooked. I think it was right about that point that I started not giving a shit about what was fashionable.

From a marketing perspective, they are and have always been dysfunctional. Head consistently makes a great ski year after year, and that's all I care about. I ski Head.
 
Half of the "freeski", "legit" brands that NS kids suck dick over are just turning around and having larger corps build them a ski with "steezy" graphics. Or are owned by large corporations themselves. So in essence they are just middle manning you to make you feel like you're so core.
