Is getting a helmet worth it?

Not gonna lie, stupid question. I mean there is no reason not to have one, and it may inspire confidence. I had one w/ mp3 capabilities and used it like once. I like getting a helmet a little to big for me and wearing a hat under and having earbuds. Some people do use them though, its just preference.

Definitely worth it. My hemet has saved my head a few times, and if I wasn't wearing one I would have been seriously fucked. Get one.

i think that with the size of terrain parks these days and the features in them such as rails and watnot why woudnt u wear one? i prob wouda cracked mys kull like 5 times last year if i didnt have one. also if ur sliding along a metal object and hit ur head(think about that one) its just there for safety and there comfortable and warm

not trying to be a hater, but this truly is a stupid question, would you rather look cool and wear a beanie, and then go off a 40 ft kicker and fuck up then slam your head down, and then your out for the rest of your life,

OR

would you rather sack up buy a helmet for 50 bucks and go off the same kicker and fuck up and slam your head down, but not get hurt too badly if at all, and be out for maybe one season AT WORST.

well lets see 60 to 80 for a helmet vs lifetime as a vegetable when u hit your head... thats a toughie right there...

Are people on NS this dull? That they need to ask whether or not helmets are worth it?

YES it's worth. Buy one now.

def get one and get one bigger so u can wear ur goggles and a beanie underneath so u look STEEZY!!!!

helmets have saved my brain in skiing, biking, hockey, and other shit, totally worth it in every possible way, they don't look that bad, they're comfortable, and they save you from death, brain damage, cracked skulls and whatnot
after like 5 minutes you don't even notice you're wearing one

Unless your mountain is 100% powder 100% of the time I would get a helmet, and if your mt is 100% pow, 100% of the time you suck, cause that's sick, but impossible. Oh and if you don't ride park or do jumps, rails or cliffs at all, and don't ski trees, and don't ski on icy days I'd say you don't need a helmet. But you probably wouldn't be on NS if you didn't do any of those.

Yeah man, ESPECIALLY for park skiing a helmet is a good idea. I never used to wear one for just riding around, but it feels so much safer. Better safe than sorry. For 60$, you can protect yourself agaisnt a serious injury.

I'm so used to wearing a helmet now, I feel uncomfortable without one. If I'm going for an easy ski with friends who dont ski to hard I wont wear one and just end up not feeling confident enough to ever leave the snow. Buy one now.

Helmets can easily look just as good as any hat, look at Bern or the rossi helmets... Besides, I got a 3rd degree concussion this year and I was wearing a helmet. If I wasn't I would no longer be able to ski park for fear of becoming seriously brain damaged. I mean, think about this. So many pros wear helmets, and besides, whats the stupidest way to go? Definitely not wearing a helmet and hitting a tree with your head.

Not worth it buddy, get a helmet.

When you smash your head or get a serious head injury, your going to hate yourself for not wearing a helmet.

i was skiin through the trees with my buddy last season and i was zippin through pretty good. thought i was just goin off a little 10 foot cliff but i kinda lost where we were on the mountain and misjudged my planned line, i ended up going off the cliff and fell about 25 feet onto rocks. broke my bindings and put about 5 coreshots in a brand new pair of gotamas. smacked my head on a rock and everything went black. needless to say my helmet saved my life. and the ironic thing is, i usually dont wear a helmet, i just did it because all the guys i was riding with had theirs on. worst part i fell right ontop of my buddy who was watching right where i landed (not expecting me to land on him because i fucked up the line). anyways we proceeded to smoke a joint and hit the mountain again after i was done thinking about how my life was almost over.

long story short, my helmet saved my life. definitely worth the 100 bucks

YES, my helmet has honestly saved my life. definitely wear a helmet if you are going to be doing any type of aggressive skiing
