I think she sold out to China. Yes she gets alot of money but China is a dictatorship and i dont think she should represent it. It would be one thing if she actually had been living her life there but shes not.

About the post i quoted....

i dont think you realize how real Chinas attacks on the united states are DAILY. theres a reason why the vast majority of all our taxes go to military. Look i dont like sounding like that guy but its completely normal and important to care about politics like that as an informed citizen.

I don't think you fully understand what you're talking about. Being a war hawk and calling people our national enemy ignores the nuance of great power competition. Next generation warfare, hybrid warfare, unrestricted warfare, whatever buzzword you want to use; it's not friends and enemies, it's competition below the threshold for violence.

Honestly, I don't know. But she is the best in the world, it's hard to imagine she wasn't.

For some reason I thought she was passed over or something like that which is why she went for the China team. In that case I have no problem with it. If she passed up the us team for China. Huge problem.

Industry plant is a pejorative used to describe musicians who ostensibly become popular through inheritance, wealth, or their connections in the music industry rather than on their own merits. Artists described as industry plants often present themselves as independent and self-made and are alleged to have their public images manufactured for them by record labels.

Yes, she basically had a guaranteed spot on the team just had to show up. I’m sure she got paid a lot to represent China

Lmao nice try poli sci major. That pie chart is missing like 3/4 of the total budget. Here's what it actually looks like, courtesy of Treasury.gov

yes I'm sure one of the top paid female athletes is a communist. she definitely competes for china because of her patriotism and love for mao zedong, and not because they offered her a bigger bag lol

Are you retarded or just arguing in bad faith? That's a dumb fuck distinction to make. The only difference is mandatory spending is baked into laws. Those laws are decided on by congress just like the discretionary spending.

You said "the vast majority of all our taxes go to military." which is just flat out wrong. Dont try to wiggle out and claim "akshually i meant 52% of discretionary spending goes to the military"

bro discretionary spending is what actually matters and what everyone thinks about when we ask where are our taxes going

Wtf. That's not even remotely true. Almost all of the bullshit that's had people pissed off about spending comes from the mandatory budget. Then you also need to add on the hundreds of billions that we make in annual interest payments which is effectively mandatory spending.

Affordable Care Act: Mandatory

Trump's Covid Stimulus: Mostly Mandatory

Build Back Better: Mandatory

So somehow the 73% of the budget that's tied up for years into the future doesn't matter??? You're lost
