Is Eheath a good skier?

it's weird how this thread comes up every so often. ive never met the dude but yeah he was a pretty legit park skier in the 2000s and im sure he's a solid freerider now plus he films well so yeah

that video was the clown school crew lol not eheath skiing. That was just his film reel. With the exception of maybe :27? Idk. There is a video of Evan throwing down from like 2007 somewhere on the internet tho...

lol i don't send notifications brother man, but the app notification is part of our distribution strategy so you might see my content pushed out via the app.
 
He's good at making his video video of the day even though snapchat bangers the movie has more upvotes and views and uploaded the same day. I'm not completely sure what the algorithm for that is though, seems fishy. Not tryna shit on it though, it deserves to be up there.

You have to consider that we will promote our own content as much as we can, we would be silly not to do so. That being said that video deserves the spot so I changed it.

3 videos of the day today lol, I totally get that though about promoting Newschoolers content. It's your website so you have every right to do that. I just think the good am videos deserve to be able to have the exposure of being at the top of the website for day just because the pro level content is going to get a high amount of exposure regardless. Thanks for being true to the system.

Also question: Did you color grade the footage in Park City - Best of 18/19? I don't mean to sound arrogant but while I was watching your video the picture looked pretty flat and undersaturated compared to the videos you've put out in years past. I totally get it if that's just your style of color grading but it just looks like it's straight out of the camera. That said, you know a lot more about video editing and shooting than I ever will so you do you.

I totally get it and promoting members videos is a big thing for us too, weekly member clip videos on our social channels has been pretty successful and we're hoping to expand the series so we can feature our members more on our social channels. We understand the community is still very important and we do all we can to support it.

As for the color on the newest video, because the lighting in every clip was different I tried to just get everything to an even level which turned into me bringing my contrast down a little bit overall. When it comes to color I try to stay consistent as possible, but realistically every edit will be different because every day I film is a little different (lens, weather, skier, etc). When I film an edit in a day or two, it's much easier to go in depth with my color because the lighting is much more consistent.

Yeah NS is doing great with promoting member content despite social media absolutely taking over. Engagement seems to fall off more and more every year ever since the early 20-teens. The biggest videos now usually won't even touch 200 upvotes but I remember back when that was commonplace.

And color: I get that and you did a great job at keeping the picture consistent using shots from the whole season- the shots looked good. I tried to be consistent with my video but when you've got footage from phones, different cameras, drones, and gopros it's nearly impossible to get a consistent picture. I feel like once everything is consistent though you could go deeper into colors. Then again it all comes down to choice of style, personally I liked seeing stuff that looks close to life-like but then have a few tints in the shadows and highlights.

The great thing about color is its so subjective that you can basically justify anything you want to do. Its all about finding what you think looks best and being as consistent as you can.

I don't give a crap about color BS in a silly video. I do like some good fun to be seen though!
