Is Columbia trash?

I am not trying to be a jerry here but I don’t see what is wrong with columbia. I know it’s not trendy but their ski clothing is dirt cheap. The quality is not up there by any means but I was able to get a $240 Jacket for $80 on sale.

Depends on what u want for quality and what time of year you’re using it. Sales happen on a bunch of other stuff too tho. Got a $350 spyder freeski jacket for $175. Great jacket

kinda the opposite problem IME. stuff I have will not die. My mom still wears the gizmo jacket she got me when I first learned to ski. Stopped wearing it since it wasn’t ‘cool’ now she says I can’t have it back lol. I have a black Columbia jacket and when I had short hair I had multiple people mistake me for a cop while wearing it. Even another cop parked next to me and then asked if I wanted to walk with him to find the cop meeting he was going to. I had to explain I was just going to the library

^lmao

but yeah i think it has a good rep in terms of being fine gear. If you see it get trashed on here it's just cause it doesn't market itself to the stereotypical NS skier, it's more for, uh, normal people

I have a pair of Columbia ski pants that I did my first 360s in when I was like 12/13. They were baggy on me back then. Now they have a more tapered fit and I still use them. The only part that ever broke was a single belt loop.

I got a Columbia jacket for like 50 bucks. Def not the best but for that cheap I can buy a new one every year if it breaks

When I was younger and constantly growing columbia was the go to for cheap ski gear every year.

some vintage columbia looks super sick tho

If I had to give a reason why I hate them it’s they bought Sorel boot company, moved all manufacturers to Thailand, and the fucks won’t sell replacement liners for any of their heavy duty boot line any more.

the fit and colors are always weird. I constant try and get into them but can't. Like, the ad Columbia is running rn of Cassie sharp looks like something from the christy sports discount bin in 2008 lol

They fit me fine.

I ride combia for years. Coats are decent. Also found one again and would rep it for my normal winter jacket a few years ago.

honestly nah. got a sweet all-black light shell rain jacket for greenskeeping and hiking that doubles as a perfect spring skiing setup or even a light shell for spring touring missions. cant complain.

I got some columbia snow pants at goodwill and honestly they are sick and rad AF. The fit is dope and they have a super simple design with only one pocket, so they almost have kind of a track pants/parachute pants vibe? Just super simple blue snow pants. I doubt they will be waterproof but they were also eight dollars

Pretty sure I have similar shitty blue columbia pants. 100% not waterproof but it does the job.

I love Columbia. If you even can get a pass to the employee store in Portland take advantage of that shit. Got new hiking boots there for under $40 as well as a bunch of other stuff. Store is huge too.

Vintage columbia is super dooope.

I like some of their spring gear for camping but recently they launched some retro pieces that are kinda sick. Waiting for discount season to cop
