Is anyone here a lawyer?

Because i just got a "photographic speeding ticket" from a radar camera, and i got my ticket in the mail. But the thing is, i already got a speeding ticket earlier this year, and deferred it, so i can't have another one on my record. I'm going to fight it, but if anyone who is actually a legitimate lawyer can offer any legal advice, it'd be much appreciated.

go talk to a lawyer.

there was a similar program here in MN but it got shut down i believe because it was VERY hard to prove that you were in operation of your vehicle. as apposed to someone you lent it to.

anyway, go talk to a real lawyer from your specific state.

idk about where you are but by me in jersey theres lawyers that will do a free legal consultation where you just go and talk about what happened and they give you there options and there take on what you should do

pretty sure if you wanted to take it far enough they'd have to prove YOU were driving the vechicle. Its not up to the accused to prove innocence it's up to the crown to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you are guilty. the whole innocent until proven guilty thing.

But i just have a high school law class, talk to a lawyer they normally give free consults.

in australia theres a section on the speeding ticket that is counted as a statutory decleration. If you get a ticket from a speed camera and you were not the one driving the car then you fill that section in saying your were not driving it at the time, then list who ever was. you sign it and send it back then the cops send the ticket to the person who was driving the car. you don't pay for anything. then, as it was either someone from your family or one of your mates you tell them they fucked up and are going to get a ticket.

you get in heaps of shit it you lie on a statutory decleration though.

for all of those that are curious, we live in seattle, wa.

but aidan, what street was it on? and how fast were you going?

this advice i'm going to give you is going to help you just about as much as anyone else on here.... kill everyone involved, including the camera. no witnesses, no crime.
