Is anyone else a hunter on this site???

if all your hunting is deer, thats ok, but pretty much other then that, hunting is a really shitty thing to do. The reason it is ok for deer is because its a population controll.
 
Are you serious? Believe it or not, other animals can also have a significant population. For example, in the mountains around where I live there are thousands of elk which all come down into the valleys during winter. Now if there's a bad winter, they're all screwed because there are too many of them. One of the main purposes of hunting for all species is population control, that's why they give out a limited number of tags for each species, area, etc.
 
i would hunt if the animals fought back but since the dont its not any fun.... now that i think of it im going to start hunting deer with a knife...now thats hardcore!!! that way its me and the deer one on one
 
I actually know somebody that did that, he's crazy. He's 75 now and he does wheelies down the highway by his house at 80mph.
 
Would you rather be shot, ran over by a car, or starve? Maybe you should take a look at what the point of hunting is before you make biased judgements on it.
 
I hunt and who ever said stick a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger. How do you think you get a hamburger? Do you think they wait for the cow to die of natural causes? MORONS. I shot a nice buck last weekend but guess what it is feeding me. Infact I had deer steak for dinner last night and it was awsome.
 
Mmmmm....I concur. I say he should go make a pretty little sign and protest. Or maybe try the little suggestion himself to make sure it really hurts that much.
 
banned in the UK. Tragedy. I used to go and watch the hunters ride by every weekend. The ban is weak though and people are still hunting which is cool.

I went to a protest against the ban last year. It was pretty mental, the police got a bit baton-happy, I got other people's blood all over my jumper. I have some good photos though, and I was on TV.
 
i know, im just saying that if your shooting something with even a slight non-abundent population, thats just stupid. plus killing for fun is really low level in my opnion.
 
the point of hunting?!!?! bullshit! almost all hunters hunt because they are macho hicks that like to kill.

yes, there may, under cirtan circumstances be positive affects, but most people dont hunt to make it so that the pray do not starve.
 
To me, it seems like if you have to go get your meat from a grocery store anyway, getting to shoot it first might actually be more fun. Long as you eat it, what's the real difference as to whether you kill it yourself or not? Now, if you don't eat it that's kind of a different story, but who DOESN'T like some venison now and then?
 
anyone else hunt the elusive cougar? i tried to bag me one at the WSU game tonight (haha, cougar, WSU cougars, haha) but to no avail. one day my friends, one day.

One time at my restaurant, there was this cute girl, but her mom totally like stepped in and blocked it for the girl my age, and asked me back to her room. I was like wtf? You're like 45. But she had been miss montana. I met up with her daughter.

Anyone who says that hunting is bad or cruel or unkind is a hypocrite, unless they are vegetarians. Hunting is a far more responsible way to acquire meat than buying it at the super-market. I think that its worse to endorse an industry that has no respect for decency, and keeps its animals in blasphemous living conditions, than to quickly and near painlessly shoot a wild animal in the head. So unless you are a vegetarian, keep your mouth shut.
 
Exactly. The majority of people that hunt do it in a responsible manner, but just like every othe activity, there are irresponsible people who do it. There will always be the guy who poaches, the guy who gun-shoots intentionally, and the guy who lets his dead animals hang out of the back of his truck. These people are few and far between, but people naturally focus on the negative aspect of everything so that's the image that hunting gets.

actually not true. If you didn't know, Maine is 91% forest. That means a lot of deer. The state NEEDS people to hunt, or else the deer population gets out of control, and they eat all the plants, which kills all the rabbits, and so on. There is not enough food for all of the deer, so they need to be shot to control the popluation. Also, we eat them. I don't know were your food comes from, but would you rather have a deer roaming free, shot. Or a cow stuck in a pen it's whole life slaughtered to feed you. Think before you type
