Is a successful switch pond skim even possible

I’ve seen many attempts and crashes including [tag=256866]@BigPurpleSkiSuit[/tag] but if anyone has any tips I’d love to not eat shit trying it

been waiting for this thread to pop up for a while now… hit this thing a few years back on st patty’s day. took me two attempts, got very wet on the first one lol

Witnessed it myself on Saturday at the wild mountain pond skim some dude on bdogs did it first try with a ton of steeze. I got 5th place and I'm happy with that

pressed that im gonna be out of town for the GP pond skim, I was gonna put on the 120mm boats and cruise that shit switch

Of course it's possible. The hard part is hitting it at just the right speed. Too slow and you'll sink. Too fast and the lip at the exit will throw you off balance and you'll crash. At Bird closing day I tried a few times. First few attempts were either too slow (lost speed and sunk) or too fast (made it across, but crashed onto the snow as I exited). Last try I got it. I entered the pond straight and 180d off some slush, finishing switch.

At Snowbasin's closing weekend pond skim comp I 180d off the jump into the pond, made it across, but had too much speed and crashed into the snow as I exited.

I think the best idea is to try it... Even if you eat shit. Was actually one of my most fun day skiing last year. Lifts were spinning for hiking season again in late june =)

I did one age 14 at 1:13 in this video but I was on my pow skis so it felt like cheating. I'd say you need to lean forward more than you think and riding in switch is way way easier than trying to 180 in

It's honestly not that hard. This was at beaver mountain last Saturday

I’ll definitely be trying it next year probably somewhere else because there wasn’t enough speed on the run up that they give us only 3 of 100 people did a full skim

Hahaha that's the best thing I will ever see. Op I think you need to ease off the bush maybe get some glasses or cleen your mirrors.
