Is a Gopro worth the money or worth getting?

They are awesome. They are great quality, versatile, tough, waterproof, small, and pretty cheap. Definetely worth it. Get the HD one though not the standard def.
 
Obviously there is a unanimous 'yes' going on in this thread, and I will contribute to it as well. I got one in june and bring it nearly everywhere I go. It's soooo handy.

I have and HD hero and it's amazing, I love how versatile it is, while the quality is still amazing for such a small, relatively cheap camera. I'd for sure get one if I were you.
 
Its totally worth it. and the only reason i bought it was for the waterproof casing. If it were not for that, I would have gone with the Contour HD. If you are skiing trees with the go pro, tether it down to your helmet in some way along with clipping it into the mounts. They easily get ripped off if you hit a branch.
 
How necessary is the 60fps on the HD hero? the 960 one doesn't have it. anyone have videos with the difference between the two.
 
yes get one, i love mine its so versatile and durable. get the HD one thoguh cause its a lot better and the 60fps is good for fast moving sports like biking and skiing.
 
gopros are 100000% worth buying. really not that expensive for a camera of the quality, plus you can film so many things so many different ways. i actually end up filming things i wouldnt, just because its so much fun.
 
ya i figured out in the dark they dont work but shadows and a little low light it still performs great and the sun doesnt blind you the camera filters it so its not to bright when your taping.
 
its totally worth it if you want a camera and think youll use it. if you dont think youll use it then its a waste
 
I think of it as a filmer who is on the same schedule, hikes just as fast, and doesn't ever complain about getting wet.

Perfect helmet cam solution.
