me and my friend are wondering if they are the same thing. I think they are but he doesn't. are they the same?

What do I know but... Whilst they're nearly the same? A rodeo is where your feet go over your head, a flat is where they dont.

I will await flaming.

seeing as they have differnt names... but yea. backflip is to rodeo is to flatspin what frontflip is to misty is to bio

flat spin your feet go to the side making your body flat in the air hence the name flat spin, and you spin 360. rodeo is kinda similar but your body goes less flat and you spin 540. a rodeo is like a more flippy flat spin with a 180 at the end. hope that makes sense, some else can probaly do a better description than me.

This is true on some occasions, I have seen it before, but most flat 5s are just flat 3s with a 180 tacked on at the end.

is it possible to do a Rodeo 3? Or is that a wack flip or a flat? I've seen it alot, kinda looks like a lincoln with a japan grab, or something.

If your talking about the lobster flip i think it's called, it is no flat spin. It's a double bio because during the off-axis rotation, his head is always facing downhill. And there is a difference between flatspins and rodeos, the major difference is the way they are set, however, the appearance is only slightly different.

I feel like a couple years ago they kind merged into one name. Flat spins used to me done mainly on hips (which were once so cool) Doesn't really matter now though, call it what you will, its a backwards rotating flip.

Henrik's type of flat is unusual because he stays flat the whole time and yes I agree with you but alot of times the spin just gets added after the flat

rodeo and flat are so similar it's often hard to tell the difference. generally though, if the "rodeo" looks more inverted than it should, it's likely flat.

no? a rodeo is when ur feet are higher than ur head, flat is when it's same hight, so rodeo is more inverted? maybe i'm just stupid! and those backflip japan that everyone calls flat3...wtf, this is so wrong! i've seen just a few real flat 3s yet...

I just call em flatspins. flat 7 I did a while ago -

and flats aren't limited to a certain rotation. but once you start spinning lots they usually turn into bios.

- at 30sec Tim does flat 5,9,12

i think of rodeos as being switch rodeos which are essentially mistys but going switch(different than a switch misty which is the opposite)forward into the jump for, but facing forward i would call them flat...but it really just depends more on who you ask

the grab makes it look different. and the fact that A frame is steeper than most jumps its hard to keep any trick not level

1:50 - Flatspin

2:10 - Rodeo

I think of throwing a flatspin as dropping my shoulder when I set the spin, then bringing my feet around behind me. Not inverted.

I think of a Rodeo as a backflip where I would drop my shoulder to tweak the flip out to the side, then 180 out of it. Inverted.

ohhh hmm yeah that makes sense, my bad. but then those "flat 3s" are nearly completely invert so…? idk...

no it's not sa,me. I don't want to be grammar nazi, but how hard is it to check twice your title?
