Is 181 too big?

i'm 5'9'' and 145 lbs is a 181 ski too big. oh and also i have tiny feet, my boots are size 8 and i was wondering if i would be able to control this size of a ski

im 6'4 and thats the size im on this year.. its less about height though and more about weight, the mounting of them will also be a factor

How advanced/skilled are you? That's a pretty big factor as well...

At this point, and I hate to say it, but I don't think that you'll be able to handle them, though it also depends on what ski...so what ski?

For reference, I'm 6ft and 185 and I ski 180s in the park...

yeah it's fine, i'm 5'10 170 and i ski 180's, 182's, 179's and 171 for park, i just have the short ones for playing around and having fun in the park, i don't ski much park

im not an expert on the topic, but it would also depend on which ski (in terms of stiffness) but i would say mid 170s would be good for you

i am 5'10" 145 and just got 181 chronics. lines sizes are short so they arent long at all. i have skied on a bigger ratio of my height to ski length so i think that they will be fine for me. and im a strong skier. it really depends on if you can ski anything no problem no hesitation or if you are just starting/not as advanced

Like everyone said, it depends on a few things:

1) Ability - If you are more of an advanced skier, you will be able to handle a burlier ski.

2) Weight - At 145 lbs, you are pretty light.

3) SKI - You haven't told us what ski it is. If it is a stiff 181, that might be too much ski for you. If it is a softer 181, you might be OK.

4) Mounting Point - If it is a park ski, and you center mount them, it is much different than an all-mountain ski where you are going to mount -3 or -4
