Irony?

Isnt it sort of funny how when paul cotter did the back flip to rail there wasnt really a huge uproar, and i imagine people were like that isnt where skiing needs to be goin. Now that fuckin rodeos and flatspins have been done on to rails, is that the right direction. is a flip on a rail not cool unless its a rodeo or flatspin. The poin im trying to make is that flips and shit of this caliber have been done onto rails before and no one really seemed to appreciate it. Maybe because it was paul cotter, one of the most underated names in skiing, and not a common household name like cory vanular. Basically like a name brand influence to a dollar store brand. Why must we be so god damn influenced by the "popular" crowd. Skiing is turning into fucking mtv. pretty soon were gonna have streaming video with the "top 40" skiers, and a request hour on ns radio about who is whos favorite skiier and who they want to give a shoutout to. Props to vanular and all those guys if there were ne other doin the rodoes and shit, but newschoolers, grow some individuality and stop jerkin off with the community.

i remember reading an interview with cotter in freeze years ago and he was saying how the D-630 was the next flip trick to rail

i think corey's flat 450 to 270 out was more impressive than cotter's backflip to rail (that was openin in propaganda right?)

i think cotter's backflip to rail didnt raise as much hype as vanular because there simply wasnt as big of a newschool skiing community as there is today. also, i dont remember anyone say thats not where skiing should be going. i thought it was sick!! but vanular definitely deserves the props he's getting because flatspin 450 to 270 out IS sicker onto a rail/box than a backflip. but for the level of skiing when cotter did it, they might be somewhat equal. i think they were both sick.

i guess what im saying is big titty fucking deal vanular threw a flip to box. honestly, where is that taking us. Closer to roller blading, or some fairy sprite sport where we go around flipping off all types of shit, fuck if i wanted to flip onto and off of everything i would join gymnastics

An old man turned ninety-eight

He won the lottery and died the next day

It's a black fly in your Chardonnay

It's a death row pardon two minutes too late

And isn't it ironic...dontcha think

It's like rain on your wedding day

It's a free ride when you've already paid

It's the good advice that you just didn't take

Who would've thought...it figures

Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly

He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye

He waited his whole damn life to take that flight

And as the plane crashed down he thought

"Well isn't this nice..."

And isn't it ironic...dontcha think

It's like rain on your wedding day

It's a free ride when you've already paid

It's the good advice that you just didn't take

Who would've thought...it figures

Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you

When you think everything's okay and everything's going right

And life has a funny way of helping you out when

You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up

In your face

A traffic jam when you're already late

A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break

It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife

It's meeting the man of my dreams

And then meeting his beautiful wife

And isn't it ironic...dontcha think

A little too ironic...and yeah I really do think...

It's like rain on your wedding day

It's a free ride when you've already paid

It's the good advice that you just didn't take

Who would've thought...it figures

Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you

Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out

Helping you out

I think he did a few in Focused. Or was his seg in Focused the one with him jumping off all the houses into bushes and stuff? Either way, all McMurray does is underflips on and off of rails.

You don't have to care what other people are doing with their skiing. Just do your own thing and have fun, I think that's why we're all skiing. You were trying to say how skiing was going to turn into MTV yet you're calling people out for doing tricks that you don't think are cool. Ironic? Yes.

He flipped onto the rail in like freaking 2001. That was THE most amazing thing i've ever seen back then. Still pretty cool.
