I don't know how the welfare system works in the U.S., but I'm guessing it works similarily to welfare in Canada. There needs to be welfare reform. Create incentive for those on it, to get off of it... but of course its easier to say 'fuck welfare' because your ass wasn't raised by a single mother with 3 kids on welfare.

...And no, that isn't an unreasonable scenario. If you actually made an attempt to understand the issue, you'd find that a frightning percentage of single mothers rely on welfare to feed themselves and their children.

the only problem with saying that 3 grand is worth it to prevent terrorist attacks is the fact that: 1)there was no connection btw Al'qaeda and iraq or sadam, eventhough bush does not believe the 'conclusive proof' the cia has no discovered

2)since iraq the number of people joining al'qaeda has more than doubled

so bush has sucessfully made his country and all the people within it even more likely to be attacked. in effect your 3 grand has hellped create a despairate nation that is will to go to any extent to attack 'the west', and i has also helped in the increase of funding and support for terrorist organizations around the world.

If this is what your will to work over time for then so be it, but its not what i would like my money to go towards

While i think many americans, bush included, believe that as long as the rest of the world isnt attacking them they do not matter. This is the wrong outlook, because the USA is the most powerfull nation they must be the nicest, and the most caring. I really don't uderstand why people are moaning. 1) All this means is that your war budget has been increased at the expense of a couple of other things. And there is already a defence budget, it's just taking a bigger vut now, when the war is over it will backseat.

while it is a huge amount of money that undoubtabley could have been better spent on a worth while cause, i doubt that the american people will end up paying a cent more. The US instead just keeps increasing its national debt. It has stopped caring what astronomical figure it is, and carring what that figure truely represents. At this point in time it is irelevant if they keep spending. Problaby in the future it will end up catching up to the US and screwing them over, but at this point its anyones guess, and the US will contiunue spending in perpetuity.
