Iran wants to hold talks with the US about their nuclear program! I really hope the US agrees to talk, cause so far they don't seem to keen on Iran. I was at a lecture last year about Peak Oil, and the guy brought up that he predicts the US would go to war with Iran before the end of Bush's second term. So this is a step in the right direction preventing that. PRAY FOR PEACE!!!

Since GDub said they supplised weapons to Iraqis and people speculated it was something made up so they could go to war with Iran and plus the US is all over Iran's cause about nuclear weapons cause we don wan no WEAPONS OF mass Destruction (Steel Pulse) pEAAACE!!!

Maybee a war won't errupt with Iran, this is a step in the right direction for once. WW3 is definatly a reality right now so it's good to see people tring to work for peace

......wtf.......

fuck spending massive amounts of money on that country to do anything like fight a war, let them blow themselves up. Do you realize how far our country is in debt bro? What like last month there were like 8 Apache helicopters destroyed? What is that worth like 8+ Million dollars? Soldiers lives and their health is worth alot more obviously, but someone is going to have to pay for all this shit, it sure as hell isnt coming out of bush's pocket...... Fucking stupid........our world is beyond the point of having massive war if we want to continue to exist comfortably.

apaches suck ass..they like to fall out of the sky

they have been a pain in the ass to the United States Army since the day they got them. Rather be doing more combat shit I hate sitting on FOBS that shit gets boring..

While I do agree this spending is stupid and this war is going to be a financial problem. You really need to learn how debt works and where the money we are spending actually comes from before you make statements like that.

our current debt has no effect on our economy as of now, thats because we borrowed form a bunch of other countries. in the future it wil be a problem though

If the US wants war with Iran, believe me, they'll get it. Doesnt matter if Iran wants to talk or not, our administration will go to war if they want it.

Luckily, I dont see us heading in this direction. Iran being responsible for 9/11 is a stretch too far for even Bush to convince the country of. There would have to be some sort of nuclear incident (and I mean a real incident, not just them getting weapons) to give Bush enough backing to go to war.

yeah im getting sick of this fucking war.

soldiers are dieing every day.. and i have not seen any positive change since Bush originally declared this war.

this shit needs to end.

wow your only about 6 months late. and just because they want to talk doesnt mean they want peace either. you talk like they are completely in the right

you know what us soldiers wanna be over there.. we picked the lifestyle of the army and we love what we do. i would take a bullet for what i believe in anyday, maybe if you were put down on the streets you would be seeing the changes only hear what the news want you to hear.

So you would say that us being in Iraq and Afghanistan has calmed much of the anger towards the western world in the Middle East?

go talk to the people who's families have died as a result of US involvement and tell me things are better. As terrible as Saddam was, Iraq is the wrong place for us to be right now. Iraq posed absolutely no threat to us at the time of the invasion, and if we are doing this purely out of humanitarianism, why the fuck aren't we more involved in Darfur and other places around the globe? For the cost of the Iraq war, we could've taken far more effective action, both in defending our own safety and attempting to improve global well-being.

For that matter, if we're truly concerned about bad people getting hold of dangerous shit, why arent we doing anything about North Korea?

Yeah, and Osama Bin Laden wasn't a threat before 9|11, right?

Personally I think the Iranian leader is delusion, he thinks the Holocaust was a hoax for christ sakes. We definantly shouldn't go to war with Iran until we're sure they have something war-worthy to go on, and so we can get some support from our Allies. Experts expect the war with Iran to cost $1 Trillion dollars, and they believe with that kind of money we could send a massive peace-making group into Darfur and end the conflict. If Bush had done that than the war than I guarentee he would be a great president in our eyes. If I was an Iraqi living in there, I definantly wouldn't want the U.S. to leave. If we left right now, I bet you a new terrorist leader would rise and I guarentee with Irans possible ambitions who knows what would happen, but it wouldn't be good.

This is precisely the problem I have with our administration. We've been so hurried and aggressive over there to root our insurgents and terrorists (thought I highly dislike what the word has become recently) that we've done piddles in comparison to actually help the country.

Osama built fucking schools and day cares. People liked him, regaurdless of what messages he taught. By us going in and basically destroying the good Osama brought to the people, we really just validated everything he said about the western world. We've basically done the same thing in Iraq. Yes, some people are better off, but for gods sakes, look at the country. At best its at a controlled religious war. We havent done shit to rebuild the country, and we'll soon realize its going to be impossible to do so while Sunni's and Shiite's are still battling on the streets.

The "Iranian Leader" has more bullshit negative propoganda spewed about him more than Bin Laden himself. Ahmadinejad is a very smart man and has a pretty good knowledge of the US's past. In fact, I bet he knows more about US involvment in the middle east than 99% of this country. While me may be an extremist in views, he is right in some. Wrong in many too, but right in some.

There are no terrorists in Iraq, just resistance. What the fuck do you think would happen if a country invaded the US...the population would fight back. Nobody from Iraq is trying to blow our country up or take our freedoms, they are just fighting to get us the fuck out of their lands.

It's sad the population is actually being convinced by the media on this whole Iran are terrorists and supplying the "terrorists" in Iraq. It's a fucking business. We supply groups that are killing people in Uganda. What about those US made m-16's found in the Indonesian genocide? What about Jenin? What about Israeli's slaughtering people with US made weapons. The US is responsible for supplying armaments to far many more people than Iran, and nobody's calling us out on that. I'm so sick of this twisted Iran the media is creating and people following along with it. Does anyone even know WHY Iran hates us? We established a fucking dictatorship with an oppressive leader that took years of killing to overthrow. That's why they took hostages and have desired nuclear weapons. Get a clue what's happening in the world people. Countries just don't hate us for no reason, we've given them plenty.

That's the most illogical argument possible. Bin Laden was a threat because he was training for and planning attacks on America. Saddam was not, he had no WMD's, and more importantly no delivery means. Saddam posed no threat at all to the United States. We knew this. Bush knew this. Our allies knew this. When we went to the UN for support in the Iraq war, other countries refused because even they knew the information used in Bush/Cheney's case for the war was erroneous and outdated. You can make the same argument you do about anyone in the world, because pretty much anyone could eventually do us harm, but in reality, most have no means of effecting this. Saddam was not a threat, particularly in comparison to places such as Iran, North Korea, etc.

No Bin Laden DID attack America (he was also suspected to be responsible for the Cole bombing) and Sadam actually used weapons, he tested on Iraqis in fact. If this war was in North Korea people like you would still be bitching.

Obviously Bush thought they had WMDs, or else why the fuck would we be in there. Bush is a fucking human being, he didnt just wake up one morning and say 'Hey, y'know, I'm gonna attack Iraq for no reason' he thought it was for the best, regardless of how big of a failure it is. And North Koreans aren't the type of people to be fucking with.

i have all the respect in the world for every U.S. soldier currently fighting, or had fought in the past.

i know there have been some positive changes, but not enough for the amount of time we have been at war, and the amount of people who have died and suffered.

Oh and I'd like to add, you have no fucking clue what Saddam was planning, he could have had a plan to do anything, we don't know, and we wont have to find out now anyway.

HAHAHAHA

Saddam was NEVER planning to attack the US and if you think he was then I suggest you pull your head out of your ass and learn something about the world. Iraq had no interest in toppling the US government or anythign of the such.

Of course they had WMD's we fucking funded them in the war against Iran.

actually, at the time of the invasion, the Iraqi's had no wmd's, their weapons programs were pretty much shut down by inspections and what chemical and biological agents they had stockpiled had almost entirely broken down.

Y'know mitch, who knows? I sure didn't know that Jeff Dahmer was planning on eating people but he did, anything could happen. And I never said I thought he was planning somthing I just stated the fact that anything is possible.

Dude, Saddam could have attacked us... he was trying to build the largest artillery gun in the world:

02_supergun-s.jpg

The high-ranking Iraqi defector Gen. Hussein Kamel al-Majeed said Iraq was working on a space weapon launched from the supergun.

"It was meant for long-range attack and also to blind spy satellites.

Our scientists were seriously working on that. It was designed to

explode a shell in space that would have sprayed a sticky material on

the satellite and blinded it."

And I have to agree with Mitch. Theres only so much you can accomplish if your country is trading food for oil and watched by the UN. It also helps to be fucking insane. Saddam was building a space-howitzer out of segments of pipe to try and hit sattelites. Should I honestly be scared?

Exactly, even if Saddam was to set off a bomb in our country. Woohoo it would kill 10 people and then we really would have a reason for invading Iraq.

the united states debt is so big that you can pay it back a million dollars a day and it would take many years(cant remember how many) to pay it all back

Last I heard, we spent a billion dollars every week in Iraq. Billion. Tell me there aren't better uses for that money...

Anybody see on the news that one of the top guys in the Iran gov't (I didn't catch a name or position) said that Iran would make sure that they would the transporting of weapons to Iraq and was a bit spooked at the idea of getting attacked? He didn't say whether they were giving weapons themselves or if they know who it is (and can stop it) but they said that there would be no more weapons sent over. It seemed a bit fishy.
