which is better, less expensive for skiing....i dont need one that holds thousands of songs, just 200 or so. which is better for skiing, as in cold weather, water-proof, durablily...etc

look at a creative nomad zen you can get them in lower capcities, but they are much cheaper than ipods and have better battery life

minidisk is cheap and it holds a fair amount of songs, but if you want 200 songs minidisk wont work

get a dell pocket dj. hold a good amount of songs for about 200 bucks. also very durable, i got in a bike wreck w/ mine and it still works fine

ipods are by far the best. the 3rd g are nicer than the current one, but dont have as good as battery life. but they can be had for under 150 from certified ebay sellers. but if you dont want to fork over cash for one of those, get a small 256 mg flash player. cheap, tough, runs on AAs or AAAs. but if your looking for a serious mp3 player, the ipod has a lot of really nice features yo cant find anywhere.

mini disc is where it's at, you can change the cd's whenever you want too, their way cheaper, softewear is easier to use, and they aren't near as breakable, believe me

I got a mini disk player for $295 (CDN) with tax and two year warrenty. The battery life is good at 25.5 hours and it has a changeable RW 1GB card so you can fit like 40 hours on that and change it up if you want more music.

 
does anyone know the difference between the normal ipod and the hp ipod. there the same price and size but the guy at best buy couldnt explain to me the difference between the two. someone wana fill me in?
