Ipod vs. Mini Disc

well right now im stuck with a cd player and need a new music device. I heard that ipods' batteries die within a year or 2 but they hold way more songs than a mini disk. Yet the mini disk you can replace teh batteries. Sooo i dont know which one to get. What do you reccomend?

 
ipod deffinetly, but like with the ipod it last long and u get hell of a lot of more songs plus u don't have to buy disk after disk, i don't have an ipod but a similiar mp3 and i love it man best infestment besides skis.

ipod the batterys are bad but just get the extra warrany and they will repalce em if u have any problems and if u have the warranty theres no problem if u brake it riding and it holds so many songs ipods all the way

 
I believe that there's no Mac software for minidisc(there wasn't last time I checked), so if you're running a mac your choice is already made.

i have a minidisk but ipod is sick too, Burton makes jackets designed for ipod use with a little control pannel on the sleeve

 
ipod mos def, but get it from buy it from best buy so you can get the warrenty for like 20 to 40 bucks more. that way you wont have to send it to apple, you juts have to take a trip up to best buy.

i have a rio cali 256 and it's fuckin sick. it holds like 70 songs at 128 or 192kbps. i don't need like 1 million songs on a player. when are you ever going to listen to them all?

 
yea ipods def look sick, too bad they're so expensive, and u could get a pair of skis at the same price, but what can u use for downlaoding songs, kazaa, mp3.com, ????...

its really a price descision. if you have like 450$ to spend on a new device, do it, get the iPod, but if u have like 150$, get an MD, and 10 minidisks is like more than 1 gig, and are like 1.50 a peice.

just get a godamn ipod. forget the mini, its worth more to pay an extra 50 bucks for an extra thousand songs. If you buy it from apple (recommended) with the one year warrenty, at the end of your year return it saying the audio jack is messed up or it fails to charge or somethign and they will replace it.

sony is coming out with a new mini disc player and new mini discs that hold a gig per mini disc. i think its coming out in april and its about $250

 
ipods are sweet if u got hte cash but i can tell u that minidisks are good bang for the buck

ipod is well worth the money, trust me, i have a new 10Gb and i know 4 other people who have them, ive heard no complaints. i know 4 people who have mini disks, 2 of which switched to ipod, the other 2 are praying things will get better for them

 
Ipod's are awesome, but WAY overpriced. Get a nomad jukebox or something similar, or else just a plain MP3 player that takes a 512mb or 1gb chip, that should be plenty.

 
if you have an apple store in your neighborhood go there and ask if they have any open box units for sale. i just picked up a new 10Gb for $199 that way. you still get the full warranty and there's not a thing wrong with them.

nice score, thats the way, sony shit is so expensive in Aus it sucks. i have an old MD deck so no LP on my playa. i hand tight for the md with 1gig disk personally but i doubt its possible to be dissapointed with the ipod. plus fm transmitters are out every where so you can play your beats in thew car.
