Ok so i just got one, and it was on the dont disconect screen for like 10mins and i got fed up and just disconected it.. now it dosnt start it keeps showing a folder with an exclamasion mark... these thigns are so over rated

just use the updater program and try again. Mine is currently broken and im having problems dealing with the apple company to get it repaired and im kinda angery with them too.

most of the time when your getting a file with a exclamation mark it meens the ipod is trying to recognize mac files and your useing a pc, or your using a mac and its trying to recognize pc files.

run the updator that cam in the software and it will take care of it.

and in order to to stop it from 'do not disconnect' mode you have to cancal whatever action it is completing on your computer.

For the printer, you may have to go into your control panel and go to add new hardware. You also will need to install the software that came with it.

i just got one too. i havent had a problem yet. apple is pretty good about repairing stuff. My sisters wouldn't turn on and they sent her a new one in two weeks

when i chose my screen name it had absolutly nothing to do with the computer company. I do not own a Mac, i do not use a Mac, My name was after the fruit.

Also its been two weeks now though, and they havnt even told me where to send it, or sent me the box that they promissed me so i could send it, its frustrating because it doesnt work with my computer at university, just at home, and i go back to university soon. Im going to call again tomorrow and complain.

I have a related question. IS it possible to transfer my kazaa fodler to itunes? i havent been able to do it but there has to be a way.

go into the folder through windows explorer, highlight all songs, right click on them and select 'play in itunes'

always use itunes to transfer the files

makes life much much easier

you can click and drag the files but:

a) it takes forever

b) its a bitch

c) sometimes once you get them on there the ipod wont read them properly

the ipod takes a lot to get going but once it does they are dandy.

3G beats the hell outta 4G cept for battery life...the 4G look like shit

man you're so dumb! why would you do that, didn't you read the manual, it says doing that can cause damage to your ipod, which it did. now if you can't update it, try to reset it, although, mine did that too, after dropping it (ouch) and i had to send it away, but apple was really good about it and they sent me a new one in like a week. good luck,

^ he got it working so obviosuly it didn't do that much damage. I disconnected mine because it was on the 'do not disconnect' screen for a while. Ended up it wasn't connected to the high power USB port, once I put it in the high power USB port everything worked fine.

 
The question about getting it to not clear what you already had on your Ipod when you try to use another computer:

When your Ipod is plugged in there is a little ipod icon in the bottom right corner of iTunes, click it then switch it from auto update to manual update...now you can get music from anybodys computer but you have to do it manually...just drag the songs you want into your iPod or do the entire library.

...and if it says don't disconnect DON'T FUCKING DISCONNECT. It can fry the harddrive in the iPod. My dad did this to his and ruined the thing totally.

ipods are sick, but the thing i hate about em is you get all these bitches here who only get them because it's the cool thing to do, they don't listen to much music, they probably can't even fill up 5gb's of they're 20... its sad...

to remove songs from the ipod, just go to ITUNES, your music cache, and delete the song from your ITUNES library. When you n ext update your ipod, the song will be gone.
