what's the cheapest, best program for transferring music between an ipod and a computer without losing all the music on one of them? are there any free ones? i've tried a few with free trials but that ends up shitty. recommendations? i don't mind if i have to illegally download something, i've been mad desperate to get this plus i just lost an ipod video that i had for 3 years. btw i searchbarred for this but didn't find what i wanted. thanks

yeah i suppose now since i've lost my ipod video that's all i need to do. but before, i was trying to be able to go both ways, and don't most of these programs do both? anyways yeah that's really all i need at this point. my mom gave me her nano and there are like 500 songs on it that i want to back up on my computer before i choose what to put back on it.

senuti fur sure.
there is a 30 day trial, but u can only transfer up to 1000 songs
i have the rip if u want it, just send me an email at oakleyrida103@gmail.com and i can hook u up

alright theres a way to do this and i dont have my ipod with me right now so im gonna do this as best as i can.

1. go to control panel > folder options and make sure you can view hidden files

2. Right click your iPod and hit explore. than open ipod_control (i think)

3. Than there should be a hidden folder called music or something of the sort.

4. Then theres a few folders called f00, f01, f02 etc

5. each one has songs, there should be 6 or 7 folders.

6. select them all and drag em to your iTunes

7. some songs may be named weird, you can change them manually. most of them should be fine though.

sorry i really should have mentioned that i use a mac, but thanks anyways! hopefully someone who reads this thread can use these steps for their pc.
aside from that, thanks to all who've posted in this thread thus far, i don't think i'll download any more free trials because i've already cluttered up my computer with too many of those but i've used them all up. so i'm shooting an email to the guy a few posts up about the rip, which i hope i can use.
well i'm traveling tomorrow and the next day so i'll be back to try my luck again, all the help is much appreciated,

hey so i finally just decided to use the senuti free trial, which was good because 1000 songs was more than enough, and the other programs i had tried before had ended up being limitied to 100 songs which didn't help me. thanks for the input, it really helped! +k
