IPod touch

It says in that article (or maybe some other one I read) that the new Nanos ship out to stores today. The iPod classic and touch can't be too far behind.

Only thing I don't like about the iPod Touch is that it's only 16GB... it's more like an iPhone than anything else.

The new iPod Classic comes in 80 and 160GB (!!!!!!) versions.. that's crazy. And the 160 is under $400 too. Insane
 
that's a huge amount of memory. they get my props for that, I could store nearly every photo and video I have on my computer on the iPod. not that I really need that much space, my zune had 4000+ songs 2000+ pictures and a bunch of videos and I still have 9 gigs left. I would be all for buying the touch if it came with more memory, though it is cool that it's flash but $400 for 16 gb isn't cool.
 
Estetically they're both pretty ugly. One is just a copy of the iphone and the nano is just straight up shit.
 
Ipod touch = disappointment. I was sooo pumped when i first saw the intro video, then i saw the biggest one was 16gb....
 
haha, the digg page has like 4 or 5 apple stories. anyway, im glad the touch doesn't come with a bigger memory otherwise I would be seriously wanting one. the classic isn't too different other than looks and size, but the size I have now is fine. the nano still isn't good looking so I'll skip that too. now it's time to see what microsoft has up their sleeve. (if anything..) and update with a better use for the wifi would be great. (especially seeing what apple just did.)

No shit! they can put fucking 160gb is the classic but 16 in that shit? Id pay 400 for a 60gb touch, but that wont happen forever...
 
Do none of you seem to realize that the touch is flash memory? That's why its memory is so small, but flash is sooo much better than a regular hard drive. Especially for skiing. I don't really need much more than 10-12 gb so touch here I come.

Expect a 1.5 or 2 generation iPhone next summer too with more updates. Maybe they'll even make a 16gb one of those.
 
Touch screen iPod is fucking retarded. Shit I have a PSP and you don't even need to touch the screen to get it covered with finger prints, dumb idea, dumb product, iPod is as good as it's going to get.
 
They make these things called screen protectors that are like a sticker and are clear and you can put them on screens to protect them. Its not rocket science my friend.
 
Yeah, flash memory is more shock resistant. But still, 16GB, plus firmware and all the functionalities of it, will leave you with not much room for music so you will have to choose your favourites to put on(if you are a music junkie)... and youll probably want something larger to hold all your songs on. And that probably wont happen with the Touch at $400
 
I hate apple. I paid 250 for my 8gb nano just after christmas, now I can get a 8gb with more features for 50$ less a year later. argh! I still want it though. hmph
 
they do look rather bad, but, it's the music they hold and the video and all that stuff that i care about. When it's in my pocket i won't acre what it looks like.
 
I think they are awesome. Great features and looks perfect. But I have more than 16 GB of music....the HD is quite small for 300$.

16gigs is pretty weak, especially with movies that can be up to a gig each if you have good quality video
 
Meh, I ride with my 30 gb video fairly often and I don't have too many problems. It requires charging waaay more frequently, but its not really the end of the world. Actually if it would break my iPod faster I'd be happy. I'm under warranty so I would have my current iPod replaced with a new one. It would be a classic, but I'd use the credit towards a touch. I don't need mega amounts of room so it works perfectly for me.

Also, Apple slashed the price of the iPhone today as well. The 8 gb is now the same price as the 4 gb was, and they have discontinued the 4 gb. So I'd say Apple is prepped to introduce a 16 gb iPhone in the spring at the same price the 8 gb was originally.
 
does anyone know if the ipod touch's will be compatible with things like audex jackets or even the new gloves that are ipod compatible(the ones in the new freeskier buyers guide)?
 
honestly 16gb is nothing. people saying it will be "enough" for their music, once you get all your videos on there it adds up really fast.
