IPod touch vs classic

So how is the iPod Touch working out for any of you guys who use it? I need a new one and I don't know whether Touch or Classic is the way to go. I don't care about any functions other than playing music. At all.

So how is the interface with the Touch? I can't see it being easy to use while driving so I'd maybe need a remote too for that. And on the 32Gb I'd need to delete a load of my music to fit.

go touch, although you said you dont care about other functions, it is useful. most ski lodges have wi-fi, which is convenient for checking anything you need to. but i you truly only want it for music, just get a 80 gb classic

i say go for the touch.

also, how can you possibly have more than 32GB of music? do you even like half of those tracks or are they just there?

do you guys know if the old jailbreaks will work on the 2nd gen ipod touch. I just got one today and im thinking about jailbreaking it. Should i even jailbreak it or just leave it. I want that spore game.

Im going to kill this website, I typed a two paragraph thing on why the

touch is amazing but terrible for music playback and this site erased

it. Anyways long story short, the touch is one of the greatest things I

have ever owned, but controlling your tunes is awful. I cant tell you

how many times ive almost killed myself driving trying to find a song,

the wheel is the best way to go. get the classic because yous aid you

dont care about anything but music.

Yeah that's what I thought. The touch screen seems like a total pain in the ass. My phone has every other function I'll ever use. If there was a 32Gb or bigger unlocked iPhone that would be perfect but I can deal with having a phone and an iPod in my pocket.

If all you care about is music and space, stick with the classic.

But if you use the touch, you're going to fall for it...its a fucking amazing device. Im still blown away by it after 3 months of owning one. Just pick one up and try it...its epic

i would go with the classic. 120 gigs is alot better then the 32 and its cheaper by $150. and the touch screen and apps kinda lose their awsomeness after a while. u really wont end up using most of the apps on a day to day use. so save your self some money, buy the classic and some really good headphones. o and i have a 16 gig touch and im thinking of switching

Its not a pain in the ass once you figure out all the features. Once you learn the device, its as easy at the classic.

Yeah well I'm getting my new Macbook this week so I'll have a look in store. The Apple guy is obvioucly going to try to upsell the Touch though.

Th other thing is I get a rebate for a Nano or Touch when I buy my Macbook on the student deal. So I can either get a free Nano and sell that to get cash towards a Classic, or just get a cheap Touch.

I think classic is the way to go. Whoever questioned capacity requirements, yes I have about 40Gb just now. I could easily cut that down to 30 by getting rid of stuff I don't listen to much but from then on it would be a constant dilema for what to delete to make room for new stuff.

yea my friend has one and i almost bought one, even though the audio quality is pretty poor. only thing i don't really like about it is the fact that my fingers are actually too fat to use the thing properly, i can't play tetris properly on my buddies because i push like 4 buttons at the same time...sucks to be me haha

I have 30GB, but half of them are my dad's friends and I don't like most of that. He might have 320kb/s if he's really into quality, but then he wouldn't be buying an iPod because the audio quality through the headphone jack is god awful on iPods.

i got the 120GB classic 3 weeks ago and i love it, my only complaint is the track pad gets hung up sometimes. i was thinking about getting the touch too but then i thought i would fill it up to fast.

the touch is nice if you use it for a lot of shit, like if you really utilize each feature. but, if it's music only and you have a lot of it, save money and go for the classic. for music only it's more (after)bang for the buck...(hehe i makedid a joke!!!1!1!!!)

ipod touch all the way-

i just broke my 80 gig classic riding so if you wanna ride with it i suggest highly that you get a shuffle for riding purposes and a touch for regular stuff

ipod touch is super sick. It's got internet, web browser, tons of sick apps, really fun games, and its better for movies. I only listen to music on it like 10% of the time, I have a shuffle which I use most of the time for music. But trust me, you'll love the touch. You think you don't want anything but music, but its way too much fun and def worth it

is that your? whats the source on winter board?

anyways ive had my touch for over half a year now and as soon as i got it i jailbreaked it, well worth it, can do so many crazy things with it, wifi alone is amazing. But that being said if you a big music guy go with the classic

yup, it really is a sick device

i have best of both worlds, 8 gig touch for messing around on and a few songs, and 80 gig 2nd gen zune for vids and my music

Ok thanks guys, Classic it is. Like I said I have a Pocket PC phone that has all the other stuff that is on the Touch so I only need music capabilities.

Sorry, but ima leach your thread. You already made up your mind, and I'd suggest the same.

BUT, for all those ipod touch owners/users, I have a question:

Does an application exist that allows you to view maps offline. Not being able to view maps if you're not in a WiFi zone is bogus. I'm in desperate need of some portable maps before I bike to Belgium and an answer to this question would help. + Karma!
