Ipod Touch Problems

Alright so I just got this Ipod from this kid. It was working fine with his shitty music on there, but when I put my music on it only worked for a little bit and now everytime I turn it on, It turns off on me.

I charged it, restored it at least 4 times, but that only made it worse. now Itunes won't even read it.

Any ideas? Has this happened to any of you before?

+k for some help. oh and it's 3rd gen

dudeeeee this totally happened to me too...I would tell it to play a song and it would glitch out and play another one at random and sometimes my volume bar would just disappear. I say take it in to an Apple store because mine never changed. Good luck!

if you call apple they might fix it. my brothers ipod was being dumb and he called them. turns out it had some weird program issue so they sent us a box which he used to send the ipod back and they sent us a new one. all paid for and everything.

when you say you restored it, do you mean you are wiping it back to original factory settings and then replacing all of your old shit?
If you do a complete wipe back to original out of the box settings, what happens?

Yeah, just do a quick google search for restoring ipod touch without a computer. This should give you step by step instructions on how to bring it back to it's original factory settings. Once you've done this, let me know what the status of the device is, ie what it is doing and how it is functioning.
Note - you will lose all data, but if you've got it backed up on your computer, this stuff can be recovered. It could be that you've got a couple of apps that are conflicting with each other, so even though you are wiping it, you recreate the problem when you restore all of your info.
I'm just trying to help with trouble shooting here - it's hard to do without having the device in my hands, so we may have to try a few different things before we can find the root of your issue.
Also, is the device jailbroken?

yeah, i've seen it before. probably a stupid question, but are you running the latest version of itunes? have you tried rebooting your computer? have you tried using a different usb port? a different usb cable?

also, does your computer recognize the device when you plug it in? in other words, can you go to my computer and see that a device is connected?
