just finished editing my ipod touch theme heres some pics

the pics are tanner hall and they fade into eachother like a slideshow its sick and i spent like an hour changing all the icons.

 
your iphone has to be jailbroken and from there you can install themes using winterboard- but this theme i made myself. if u want i can send it to you. to kailbreak your phone just go on youtube and look it up
 
i will but i'm into the debate right now.....what does "jailbreak" mean....sorry i've actually had the phone for almost a year, but apparently i'm still poppin my cherry with it
 
jailbreaking your iphone is making it so that you can install 3rd party applications on your phone, not just apps from the app store. like right now im using a program called islsk which is like limewire for the iphone- i can download any song i want and it gets added to my ipod's music library its sickk
 
no dont use that its only for firmware 1.1.1 and im guessing you have firmware 2.0 if you've kept your phone up to date.

use quickpwn or winpwn to do it. and no, if you jailbreak your ipod or phone, it doesnt void your warranty, cause you can just do a restore and your device will be the same as it was when you bought it.
 
i want to jailbreak my phone but i looked on youtube and theres like a zillion different videos for it... how did you do it?
 
what firmware is your phone? you can check by going to settings--general--about and it'll say on there somewhere
 
dude. ipod themes own me. please help

i just recently used winpwn 2.5, got a sick new bootup screen and whatnot. However, i installed winterboard and customize 2.0. so far i can only edit the strings from customize to change like the "slide to unlock" text. everything else i try doesnt work? i hit apply to all or apply to a certain thing and then when i back out it resets and then i unlock it and its exactly how it was before, no change at all.

and btw do you know any real nice sources for cydia or installer? i need more i only have like 3.

my advice?- fuck customize. almost none of the themes on customize have the right installation encryptions so they simply dont apply to the ipod, they just use up memory. if you haven't already updated to the 2.0 firmware, i suggest doing so, its way worth it.

to get themes, (on 2.0) use cydia. make sure you have winterboard installed, and once you have that you can download tons of legit themes off cydia, just go to sections and scroll down to themes. once you download a theme, just open up cydia and select the theme you want. what i did to make my theme is kind of advanced, and i was able to customize every icon and the wallpaper, but if u want to learn how to do that i'd be glad to help.

I perfer to just downgrade because that one is easiest to install. But you can use any.

But if your phone freezes whiel jailbroken and you can't restore it and you try to get a warentee claim they will say the jailbreaking did it and your warentee will be void.

if your iphone freezes, whether jailbroken or not, you can put the device into DFU moder (recovery) and then restore it with itunes from there, thus unfreezing your iphone and making it like its original state.
 
Read around ipodtouchfans.com . Sick springboard man. I might jailbreak mine sometime in the future again. I just got rid of it today for Itunes 8 and the 2.1 software. Jailbreaking my touch made it slow on the first release of 2.01. But yea... I like the backgrounds, is it only the two it switches between?
 
yeah but i can put as many pics as i want on there, i just like the two. and i have frimware 2.1, which isn't glitchy at all, everything runs great.
 
what are the downsides to a jail broken iphone? i might be interested because then i could watch South park and NBC all those network episodes on the ipod right?
 
i tried to jailrbeak mine but i guess im computerishly retarded because it like just went crazy! and i lost my itunes on my computer and i had to restore it on my buddys computer.
 
i just downloaded the 4.5 OS for my Curve. woohoo. But, that theme you maid looks good. Props to you.
