if you havent upgraded to 3.1.1 yet, don't. its fucking laggy as fuck. every single app thats from the itunes store crashes. it will open for litteraly a second then crash. ive tried mulitple restores and im fucking sick of this shit. just a heads up for anyone who might wanna update but hasnt yet. check apple forums if you dont believe me, everyone is pissed at this update. all my paid apps wouldnt work with 2.8 or whatever i had so i kinda had to upgrade but then right when i paid that 5 bucks everything went wrong.
 
All my friends have run the new firmware and have no complaints. Personally i wasn't gonna upgrade anyway because i didn't want to pay for a firmware that should be completely free.
 
it should be free thats why im kinda pissed about this. alot of people on the apple forums are saying its shit and its really slow and stuff. i really havent had the time to test it out seeing how nothing really works on it. so yea i think im gonna wait til an update which should be really soon to say if its alright or not
 
Its free? i'm pretty sure its not because when i go to update it says i have to pay 10 bucks. And also all the apps work perfectly fine on my 2.8 firmware. I'm thinkin that maybe your ipod might be f'ed up. you might wanna check into re-setting it or something.
 
no its not free it was 5 bucks for me. 10 for the previous update thing that gave the extra apps and this one for copy and paste/landscape shit. and ive reset my ipod 2 times already. i just kinda gave up
 
I haven't had any problems with it.
And to whoever said you have to $10.... technically you do, but I never did. Got it for free. All you have to do is download 3.0 from a website, install it to your ipod, then since the only way you can get 3.0 is to pay a one time fee of $10, you can upgrade to 3.1.1 for free. Just google "ipod touch 3.0 free download" and you'll find tons of places to DL it.
 
Yeah i would say that your ipod might be fucked up. i'd suggest calling apple. They will know whats goin down with your ipod bro
