Ok so i have an ipod and here is an example...

I put 100 songs on my ipod...after i delete those 100 songs off my comp to save memory, then i download or import 1 new song which i really want on my ipod...so i plug in my ipod and when it updates that one song...the other 100 songs are deleted off my ipod because i deleted them off my harddrive.

This sort of thing has happend

So my question is can i delete music off my hard drive and the next time i go to update my music will it stay on my ipod somehow wwith out being erased???

you can program itunes to not auto-update the songs when your ipod is connected.. then you can update the songs on your ipod manually

yeah^ when you install the software it gives you the option of doing everything manually.

^what they said....mine did the same thing to me and i had to load like 500 songs everytime i wanted to load a few on...just do that it you will have no problems

you can do that, but i wouldnt say thats a great idea. you have the possibility of loosing everything. but if thats what you want to do, heres what you do:

plug your ipod in. onceit registers in itunes, click on it and open ipod options

from there select manually manage songs

now, you drag and drop everything you want into the ipod. (you could do this step with the auto update, but make shure to turn it to manual).

now, lets say you want a song on it. plug it in, and drag that one song into the ipod. howver, if its in a playlist, it will copy exactly whats in the playlist, so you have to copy it from the ipod.

kinda a pain

now, to get music of the ipod, go to it in my computer.

open it, and go to folder options, and set it to veiw all hidden folders.

no go to ipod control, and you will see a folder called music, with lots of subfolders. there is everything on the ipod.

i looked on google but all i could find was 3D Animation porn-sxmarty6
