IPod Problems

So I just got a new iPod classic about a month ago, and now it won't connect to iTunes. I plug in the USB to my computer and it lights up the iPod but won't charge or connect. It charges if I plug it into an actual charger but other than that nothing. I'm trying to put new music on it and it bother's me how new it is and won't connect anymore. If anyone knows how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated and +k will be rewarded.

a similar thing happened to me but I don't quite remember what I did to fix it. go to control panel>device manager and see if it shows up there then right click and see if you can format disk or configure. sorry for the vague help but I cant really remember
