Ipod music transfer?

Whats the best free software that will take songs off my ipod so that itunes doesnt erase it all? Theoretically i can just take all my music off my ipod and then use itunes again to put it back on right? Cuz i like ituneseses ease of use when making playlists and the such.

haven't used iPodDisc yet but if it works it looks like it'd be far better than the other one I know for sure works - yamipod.

that program works amazing, you dont even have to install it. doesn't work for iphones tho.

theres one called tunes transfer. you can buy it online for like 20 bucks i think.

for mac i like ipodrip works well, and says you only get 10 rips with the trial but it's actually unlimited because the counter never works. If it doesn't work on regular mode just try "hard recover", works every time.

Go on google and find a program called music rescue. it's really simple, it's basically lets you select the songs you want off the ipod and copies them to your computer. if you have a USB 2.0 port it goes really fast. the only problem is if you don't donate to the company or whatever a mesage pops up every 50 songs and you have to hit the ok button. otherwise, it's what i use and is really good.

i have used idump, its algood if you have a few songs to transfer. but on the free download you can only do one at a time, so it gets prety frustrating! i havnt tried anything so dont know if its the same
