If you are looking for quality sound through your speakers using Ipod then you go here http://icelink.densionusa.com/ and if you are looking for something to get your ipod to work in the car then you buy the itrip for 20 bucks from apple.com

get the monster ipod fm transmitter. It is expensive, but it is about 20 times better as far as sound quality over the itrip.

Kevo FM is FM there is nothing you can do to make it sound as good as the cd no matter how much money you spend. So the times 20 bullshit is not neccessery.

there are 3 options:

1) i trip (easiest and cheapest, worst quality)

2) if your deck has an rca aux. audio input, get an rca-to-headphone jack cable and plug it in. better sound quality... downside, you control the ipod regurally

3) decks are starting to integrate ipods into the operating systems ie: Alpine. you by an ipod ready deck ($250 and up) and the ica-420i ($150) (or somethin like that) plug that into your deck and then your ipod...then you can control the ipod through your deck and never look at the ipod screen. and best sound quality, also the most expensive

Kingshit, you are very correct on that, however, the Monster plugs into a cigarette lighter so it has more power going towards transmission than the Itrip, which allows it to not crackle if you drive underpower lines and it also doesn't allow nearby channels to bleed in.

yea .. but thats basically the same thing i already said, you can control the ipod through your deck. and there is no loss in sound quality except if you go with the fm transmitter

Definetly! I had an Itrip and that thing pissed me the fuck off. The sound quality was about the same as fm if not even worse at times. If I would go under powerlines it would distort really bad or when the battery would die down the quality of the sound also went down with it .I also have a sub in a back and it killed me not hearing the bounce sound from it whenever I had the Itrip. One cool thing about though is it workst up to 5-10 feet away from the car, so whenever we went camping I just pulled the car up and switched the song through the Ipod without having to get in the car. If I put a cd in then the quality of the song would be about 5x better and trust me you want to listen to it at the CD quality and not the FM bullshit. Also have fun finding stations with very clear signal. The Itrip was only 20 bucks so what you pay for is what you get, thats why I'm recomending ice link because of the quality of the sound that you will get from it.

itrip sucks. and yea if ur actually using the shit to travel. it works for about an hour, and then u lose the station(if ur drivin somewhere, roadtrip etc.) dont get it. plus it takes like 1 min to set up and im lazy.

get the belkin fm transmitter from walmart for 19 dollars. It plugs into the the headphone jack of any mp3 player and plays through one of four choices of fm stations. They work very well for 19 dollars and you can plug it into anything for instant surround sound on fm. (camcorders or whatever).

This means you don't have to carry the headphone to rca red and white cables with you to listen to music on your home stereo also so it is a realistic solution that you can go pick up now instead of ordering online.

Belkin Tunecast II

Its like 30 or 40 dollars and it works better than the iTrip plus you don't have to go through studpid itrip playlists. It lets you pick from 88.1 all the way to 107.9 I think. Plus it turns on when your turn the iPod on. It works with anything with a headphone jack as well so it's perfect if you want a laptop. It uses a triple a battery or the cigarette lighter. The normal tunecast is the same but you only get 4 stations which sucks.

fuck fm transmitters, it's like radio, but shittier. get an aux-rca adapter if you have a deck. if not, go for the tape, but not the transmitter, i'm telling you.

i just use a tape adapter and it works fine. and its cheap and more reliable than an itrip.

does all this shit work with minis too?

what i did was i cut out the coin tray in my jeep in the center console then i got an ipod dock and placed it under the console then attached the dock to the plastic under the cion tray with some paintable caulk, then i smoothed it all out then waited till it dried then sanded and painted it to the color of the plastic. but i connected the ipod to the car head unit with an rca to headphone jack cable. i plugged the head phone jack to the "line out" on the dock and then i plugged the rca cable to the "aux in" on the head unit. so now i just put my ipod on the dock and there are no visable wires. i works really well for me and was relitivly easy. ill try to get some pics up on here later to so you exactly what i mean

If you want it hooked up to your deck, you'll want apline's KDC-420i connection. Of course you'll have to buy one of the KDC lines of headunits, but if you've been looking to upgrade your stuff thiis is definitely what you want. http://www.alpine-usa.com/products/leading_technology/leading_tech_kca-420i.htm

Also, you could always be a real hardcore nerd and go apeshit like this guy did with his explorer. Keep in mind, this guy is a special effects guru.

there's nothing more annoying when you're on a road trip with your itrip and all of a sudden you drive into a region with a radio station that comes through on the frequency you've got the itrip set on. it's quite startling to go from dark drum&bass to christian rock in a matter of seconds

the monster one is good as hell, if your car's antenna is near where the transmitter is. if it gets too far away, it kind of sucks. and yes, all the stuff works with mini's too, they just go into the charging/transmitting port on teh bottom.

one good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain

^ you can see what im talking about there, like the way it sits and such. ill try to get some more pics of the accually dock later

get one of those cassettes you put in the cassette deck and plug it in. cost under 20 bucks and works fine

Take me to your special place

Close your eyes, show me your face.....I'm gonna piss on it

cassette adapter is the best bet... I had one, cost like $5 and the sound quality was fine, way better than the itrip. It doesn't work anymore because one of my asshole friends spilled coke on it or something, but it used to work really well.
