so my ipods lock has been broken since i got it a few months ago, it locks at random times and i was intending to go in to get a new one but as i was chillin by the beach a few days ago i was sipping a scrumptious lemonade and i dropped my ipod into the glass for about 2 seconds i quickly got it out and dried it off. it was on but wasnt responding to anything then it shut down and i heard a weird crackling noise from where you put your headphones in, i left it in the sun and dried it off and tried different things and i turned it back on and it worked for like 5 seconds then it turned back off. so i have two questions for NS, 1, does the ipod have water insurance, and 2, how can i attempt to fix it

Do you still have a warrenty on it? If not, crack it open and see whats wrong (look for burn spots, shorts, etc). Parts arent hard to find and are fairly easy to install yourself.

yeah i do have a warranty so i was hoping that like apple care or whatnot would cover water damage or even if they would know about water damage?

if you bought that extra warranty and you send it back in to apple they are usually really good about it and will replace it for a brand new one. no questions asked

or, if you have an apple store nearby, take it to them. they'll attempt to restore it, when that fails they'll hand you a new one

word thanks guys i jsut didnt know because same thing happened with my phone and they wanted like 50 bucks for a new one so ill head to the apple store tomoro

put it in a bag of rice uncooked rice and leave it there for a few days it should absorb all the moisture out of the i pod i did the same thing with mine and it works fine now

when i went to the apple store after my ipod went through the washing machine, they said they dont cover water insurence, but i didnt have a warrenty, but people say to put it in the microwave, ive never done it, so i would research, but 7 months later it turned on, a miricle from god and still works
