Ipod Help

i just got an ipod and i downloaded itunes just fine and i put all my songs i had on my computer into itunes but when i plug my ipod into the computer to synchronize the songs into my ipod, a little box comes up thats says ( itunes cannot read the contents of the ipod "owners ipo" use the ipod software updater application to restore the ipod to factory settings) what do i do next????

Did you plugged your ipod before installing the software? If so, your fucked. Reinstall everything.

Do you have Service Pack 2 installed? You need to have it, unless it wont work. Don't ever forget you can order a free CD of SP2 on microsoft's website...

yeah, uninstall everything and reinstall it with the cd
