Hey everyone,

I am getting an ipod for my birthday but i dont know whether to get the ipod 20gig or the ipod nano 4 gig. This thread reely comes down to what would you choose and why? thanx guys.

i would personally get the 20, because i have lots of music, but if you dont have too much, then the nano is cool because its all small and stuff.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

nano is fucking stupid, get a 20gb, i thought gettin a mini was cool cause it was small and i only had like 400 songs, but now i have over 1000 so i had to sell my mini and get a 20gb, get the 20gb

If you play with the nano, you will be like, OMFG THIS THING IS SO TINY I CAN'T BELIEVE MY EARS. But then it don't hold thatmuch, but its PRELLIE NICE.

 
the perfect thing for me was the mini six gig... cause it holds 1500 songs ( enough for me) and its nice and small and perfect for skiing or skating... so i would say that you should get the 20 gig ( if mini is not possible) because its still nice and small, and you get more than 1000 songs ( nano )

get the 20gig. i didn't think i has that many songs to put on a 20 gig so i was going to get a mini. but thanks to discover cash back bonus rewards i got the 20 gig for free. 20 gig all the way, then you don't have to take songs off and put new ones on.

Why are you asking for advice on NS?

personally id go with the nano, its so small and sweet. theres nothing wrong with changing songs if youve got more than 1000. 1000 songs isnt bad, especially when compare it to a cd when it was sweet if u had 25.

20 gig for a few reasons:

1) i already have one

2) i have about double, if not more, then what a nano can hold

3) i have one...oh i already said that

20 gig. Once you build up a music library you'll thank yourself for spending the little extra for it.

u held a anon today and listened to it for a while... the sound quality is insane for the thing, its soo small and sleek, it weighs nothing, it holds 1000 songs (i have 433 songs in iTunes, equivalent to 1.2 DAYS of non stop music) and it has a 14 hour battery life.

a 20GB is great if you plan to fill it up with pics and music, but also files and whatnot, basically use it as a USB key...

i would go with the nano if its about the music (the black one), or the 20 GB if its about storage.

Why would you possibly need 20 gigs of music? I mean I understand if you planned on moving out to the desert for a few years and needed music but I mean whats the longest you are gonna be away from your computer, more than 400 songs worth of time? 4 gigs of music is like 26 hours of playtime, maybe I just dont have as much pirated music as you guys but I think 20 gigs is very excessive

id need 20 gigs of storage because i have 67 gigs of music, and i listen to alot of it. about 30 gigs of it is stuff ive actually listened to and liked

i was in the same boat with everybody...at first i was just gonna keep it simple and get a 6 gig...but i ended up getting a 20 gig...i only have about 4 gigs left open on it...believe me your gonna thank yourself once you get around and actually collecting up full length albums, not just random songs

20gb is what i have but thats a tough decisioin...I mean when are you gonna need to have more than 4gb of music at once? I understand your librarys bigger than that but you can always change around what you have on your ipod...

Anyway, a gas station we pass. We got gas, and ran off to get grub.It was a nice little pub in the middle on nowhere. Anywhere woulda been better. I ordered enchiladas and I ate 'em, Ali had the fruit punch.

 
i got an ipod nano and switchd from a 20gb even though i have 2260 songs. I just put the good songs i have in the nano and its soooo much easier to skate and well it will be better for skiing. I pick up my old ipod and it feels like ancor so if your looking for portability go with the nano. just something to hold your songs a regular

It all depends what you need it for. If you go on long trips etc. a lot then you should go for a 20, also, if you like to have all your albums at your finger tips.

But, if you do a lot of sports with it then eventually you WILL break a hard drive MP3 player. So, go for a nano, but just load up your favourite albums at the time and a massive mix folder.

i would go with the 20 gig because thats what i have... i am getting a 60 gig if i can find one because 20 isn't enough for me... i filled it up in like 2 weeks. but between those two get the 20 gig

There is no point at all waiting on minis, they're hard drive based, that type of MP3 player is gonna be dying out, the nano-style (small w/ big flash memory) is gonna be what's hot for the next couple of years...

is the battery issue fixed on the 20GB and the ipod photos? thats all im worried about.

and about which one... well the nano is $250 for 4GB (1,000 songs) and the photo is $300 for 20 GB (5,000)

you get a bigger screeen on the 20GB and it wont be as easy to break if you fall. the sleek small design is nice but for skiing i dont believe it will hold up if you take a serious fall and it on the ipod.

$50 more bucks for 5 times the amount of music and a more durable design.

also the 20 GB screen is alot more advanced for viewing photos if you will want to upload them.

It all depends on the number of songs you want to put on it. If you have lots of songs you listen too get the 20g.

Personally I think 20g is too much. I have my 512mb Shuffle and its enough for me. I don't even use all the space because I have many playlist with different styles of music so I can swap them fast. And even there I some times skip a lot of songs. And for people who think the Shuffle only plays music on random it doesn't!!! You can put it on normal, and I dont need a screen because I usually know almost all my songs on the playlist by hearth. Oh and before people start saying it must be because I don't have that many songs, I have over 4000 songs on my comp, but I don't listen to all of them.

flash drive has no moving parts and will soon be taking over harddrives
