Iphones DO scratch

so i was in the apple store and since there are always 20 employees doing absolutely nothing but somehow are always occupied, i decided to see if all the hype about this overpriced status p.o.s. is really true. Recalling a video i watched on youtube where somebody supposedly takes a key to the face of the iphone, i decided to test it out myself on one of the store models. needless to say, that motherfucker scratches like none other if you put a little bit of pressure. I laughed to myself and walked away. Just thought I'd let you all know. I would have taken pictures but unfortunatly my phone doesn't have a camera so whatever. iphones suck when it comes to price and practicality. peace.

i know they are basically the same thing... but isnt that video a test of an ipod touch

give the iphone a break, all phones scratch. My freinds iphones are pretty close to perfect though and they have had them for sevral months.

Who would have thought that it would scratch when you put pressure with a key on it. It's not a fucking diamond dude

apparently everybody who is riding apples cock thinks it doesn't scratch when you put pressure on it, so I was just proving a point. apparently newschoolers still has iphone fanboys who think its the greatest thing since gay sex.

oh and can somebody on here please explain to me what the point of a phone/ipod case that doesn't cover the screen is?

I also heard if you shoot it with a shot gun it will break. You should try that next time your in the store.

"iphones suck when it comes to price and practicality."

sounds to me like someone's jealous that they don't have one (or an iPod Touch) and is turning that jealousy into bitching. the iPod Touch is sweet as hell, you clearly have no fuckin clue.

can you explain to me how an ipod touch is practical? it has 8 or 16 gigs, and costs the same as a 160 gig ipod. the only reason anybody would get one is because they want to show off to their prissy friends. same with the iphone. the only reason its selling well here in the states is because apple has a fucking cult following. for 400 dollars go buy an N95 or just go to europe, china or vietnam and buy a phone there. the n95 is way more capable and functional, and overseas phones are all either a generation or two ahead of anything sold here. stop riding apples dick. seriously.

Don't get me wrong, I have a G5 that i use to run all my studio software, and its a great computer, but i cant figure out how people still buy into this iphone/later gen ipod/ipod touch bullshit. they make a poor quality product and are just riding the wave of the initial success and peoples poor (but fully deserved) reaction to vista.

yeah, 100% jealousy. i'm not even going to bother explaining myself,

though i can assure you i'm not "riding Apple's dick". i love my iPod

Touch, you don't have one, and you're being a jealous little baby. and

i know you're just jealous, because if you knew anything about how

sweet the iPod Touch is, you'd want one and i'm pretty sure you know

all about the iPod touch, so you obviously want one.

here's what i don't get- people who bitch to the point of practically

sounding like they're taking it personally about a fucking iPod.

there's about 10,000 threads about how god-awful the new iPods are, so

just go whine in one of those. this whole starting a thread to make

sure EVERYBODY knows how terrible the iPod is and just how criminal it

is to like Apple is getting as old as your insistence that there's

something totally and completely wrong with the iPhone or iPod Touch.

you obviously don't know shit or know enough to be one jealous

motherfucker and i'm putting my money on the second option. sorry your

parents don't love you and didn't get you one for Christmas, but the

iPod Touch fucking rocks and there's nothing you can say or do to

change that.

wow, if you don't like it don't buy it... but stop bitchin about it, seriously... who gives a fuck If you SUCCEDED at scratching the mighty Iphone... It's still the sweetest thing out there for the time being.

I bought an Iphone right after the price dropped a couple months ago, and I can safely say that it has been one of the best things I have ever bought. About the scratching thing, yeah mine slipped out of my pocket and went for a little pipe session in copper, and it did get a little scratch. All that aside though, it is the best phone on the market, all the features are ridiculous, I would recommend one to anybody.

you are obviously retarded and dont own anything apple makes. if you had an iphone you would be on here right now saying how amazing it is. dont post retarded claims unless you auctually know something about it

i hope apple comes across this thread in an attempt to see peoples reviews on their product, and tracks your ip, then makes you buy the new screen. iPhone is rediculous, it revolutionized phones. Hence why LG came out with the Voyager ( which looks sick ). Apple definatelly leads technology.

Anything made by Apple with that shitty plasticy white/black material that covers half their computers and other products scratch like nobody's business. I learned to stay away from that shit no matter how shiny and nice it is right out of the box.

if somebody has the money to buy an iphone or ipod touch, don't hate on them... it's their decision on what to buy, so don't fucking hate on what people want... i personally think the iphone and ipod touch are sweet, look at what you can do with them, and if you phone doesnt have a camera to even take pictures of the scratch you made, i think the iphone is a hell of a lot better then your phone

I thought the iPod touch was stupid too, until I tried one my friend got for christmas. I had no idea it was capable of going online when in range of a wireless network, which is a huge attraction. The price may run a little steep and it may only run on flash memory, but give it a little bit of time and the price will drop and the memory will increase. Hell, if I had an extra 300 bucks I'd definitely buy one, it's crazy.

God, you're dumb.

The reason for the memory difference is that the iPhone uses flash memory and the iPod classic uses traditional magnetic storage. Flash memory is much faster, better for battery, and therefore more expensive.

Find me an N95 for 400 dollars. I couldn't find any for cheaper than 550 and I know a few months ago they were at least 700. Have you ever used an N95? Its simply not as good as the iPhone. The Symbian OS is sluggish and the lack of touchscreen (in my opinion) cripples the user interface. The only thing that the N95 has that the iPhone doesn't hardware wise is that awesome 5 mp camera and the GPS. These limitations are hardly a problem that isn't made up by the price difference.

The iPhone touchscreen is AMAZING. It works so much better than any other touchscreen device that I've ever used. Mobile OS X is almost perfect and its apples first try at a phone operating system. Thats damn impressive. Nokia has been making phones for how long?

Stop hating things that are popular just because they're popular.

I concur. I too like apple, I've got an 8 gig last gen nano, but the i pod touch is especially silly for the hit you take in price vs memory. Don;t say Im jealous either because that makes you sound like a whiny bitch. I could easily afford an iphone but I don't feel the need, it's just another spruced up slick version of technology that's been around for years at a premium price.

i am obiviously retarded and don't own anything apple makes.. except that I stated earlier that I own a g5 which you probably don't know what it is since you just jumped on the apple bandwagon, and I had a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen ipod, so if it weren't for me and others who were willing to take a risk, none of you would even concider buying anything made by macintosh, so fuck you.

To the person who said try to find an N95 for 400, I bought my dad one in hong kong for the equivilant of 450 USD, already set up with a 3.5g chipset because he travels alot and the 3.5 network is going up in a few months in south asia, and europe runs 3 everywhere. iphone is on edge. seriously. the wifi is a pretty awesome feature, i'll give them that. but since the FCC will no where in the near future authorize the activation of wireless N networks, the proximity limits on wifi really bring the speed of the iphone's browser down. I also like the OS of the iphone, but the touch screen delivery is all flash and little function.

Also responding to whoever commented on my personal phones lack of a camera, I had a pearl, broke the screen, and have financial resposibilities, and seeing as i already have a digital camera in my car, i have no need to take shitty pictures with my phone, and therefore see no need to shell out 200+ for a new phone just so i can take

touch interface technology has been around since the late 80s, multi-input screens have been in use for military applications for several years.

The iphone is defiantly a breakthrough in the consumer use of the technology, I just think its impractical.

my iphone is the absolute shit, i'll have you know. its the invention of the year for a reason.

Yeah i was at AT&T today to buy one but i do a lot of texting and it is 40 dollars extra for the unlimited texting and internet access and it's really not worth it anymore. so i didn't end up getting one.

in a pocket, etc.
the only thing that makes the nokia more practical than the apple is the keypad. function over fashion. both are rather impractical phones but even as a status symbol, i think the nokia wins because not every spoiled high school abercrombie model look-a-like ugg wearer has one.

i skied for 8hrs with my iPod touch in the same pocket as my keys and it didn't scratch AT ALL. of course it will scratch if you apply pressure, fucktard, but as far as everyday use goes, its screen is VERY scratch-resistant.

masturbating's impractical, but i'm sure you do your fair share of it. who cares if you think it's impractical- it's sweet as hell, i dig mine, and fuck you. your posts continue to reek of jealousy, btw... you just sound like some kid who wants one, but can't have one, so you're coming up with every reason possible to justify not having one just so you'll feel better. keep trying to tell me my iPod touch is dumb/crap/impractical/whatever... i'll keep telling you from first-hand experience that you're a fucking retard and the iPod touch is the coolest thing since blow jobs.

if you don't have an iPhone, you want one, i promise. why? because it's sweeter than any phone you've ever had, period. hate away, but anyone who has one knows you're 100% wrong.

you do realize that for probably around a dollar more per unit, apple could have used a much harder polycarbonate coating that would be much more durable. They are designed to be destroyed right when your warranty expires so you are forced to buy a new one, instead of being designed to last as long as possible. I think its fucked up, but good for apple since people like you keep throwing money at them. They used to make a great, long lasting product, but now they sacrifice quality and good service for moving mass amounts of product. Its good on paper and with their accountants. but with the shift in their production, they are losing many of apples long-time customers.

And clearly you did not understand the intention of my original post. There are multiple videos on youtube and mac fan sites of people taking a key or safety pin and claiming they are pressing while scratching yet the screen stays immaculate. I mearly aimed to disprove those. which I did. I'm not trashing the iphone, its a decent, however overpriced and with many poor choices by ATT with the service and pricing. I just hate overhyped products and false advertising(though in this case its not really advertising, more fan-based touting of the 'wonders' of a device)

well, you're about as smart as fucking a South African whore without a condom if you believed any of those YouTube vids... if you take a key to just about ANYTHING and apply pressure, it's going to scratch. as far as the REAL WORLD is concerned, though, they're very scratch-resistant. furthermore, i have the extended warranty... funny they offer that for such a low price if they're planning on all their iPod Touches and iPhones failing once the one year warranty runs out.

Dan, you clearly have some kind of issue with the iPod Touch/iPhone that you aren't addressing... perhaps wanting one soooo bad that when you didn't get one, you decided to hate on it. i think it's safe to say that everyone on here who has an iPod Touch/iPhone absolutely loves it and you're being shut down over and over again. nobody cares that you think they're dumb- everyone else obviously knows they're sweet and that you're a complete fool.

i'd let you borrow mine just so you could see how insanely awesome they are, but you'd probably try to prove how easily they scratch by putting it under a drill press or something and fuck it up. again, THE IPOD TOUCH AND IPHONE ARE NOT MADE OUT OF DIAMONDS AND WILL SCRATCH IF YOU TRY REALLY HARD. WHO KNEW?!?!?!?!?

just give it up, Dan... nobody cares what you think because everyone knows that you're wrong. just shut the fuck up already.

i used my cousins ipod touch for christmas, and it is fucking awesome. as soon as i turned it on it found my wireless internet and everything, touch screen is amazing. i really want one haha. ive decided to wait for the next gen ones though, hopefully for my birthday or something.

I love my iPhone almost as much as i love seeing Dan get completely fucking owned in this thread.

And can i point out that your are a complete asshole for going into a store and vandalizing = -----------------------------------------------------------------------------karma to you douchebagdan
